Tuition & Financial Aid:
The tuition is very inexpensive, so your Pell Grant pretty much pays for your classes. The school holds your financial aid for roughly six weeks after you start, so if you need that money to live on it can be difficult.

The internet is easy to access, and the faculty are very helpful if you can't seem to figure out how to get on one. Printing is easy as well, the first seven pages are free. After the seven pages you need to pay 0.05 a page. A personal computer is a must for me because I usually do all of my homework at home. If there is a problem at the computer lab and it takes longer to print than usual, the teachers are always very nice about it.

This school has been wonderful for me. The cost is reasonable and with financial aid and scholarships I have been able to go through my two years at this college at no cost to me. Of the classes I have taken only three of them were offered at one time. All the others had a few or several options for times and were flexible. All of the administration and professors I have had were easy to communicate and work with.

This class was only offered online and I was unsure about it at first. But my professor was very informative and wanted to assure we understood how everything worked. She sent multiple emails and told us where to find information. She stated that before the semester started if we had any questions or concerns to let her know. Each week for 14 weeks we must submit an online blog. It is interesting to read the other blogs. I have learned a lot through other peoples blogs. I now have only two weeks left and I have learned to love the online course. It has taught me how to learn in a different way.

Being a community college, campus resources are limited. Our soccer field is very torn up and I feel the gym has seen better days. The work out room in the gym, although small, has very nice equipment. Our library is small too, but it is very clean and well kept. A lovely place to study.

The Academic Support Center at my school does a very good job with their tutoring system. I'm not sure why more people don't use it. They are very helpful and can accommodate most students needs. Other organizations around the school are advertised constantly, and a lot look very interesting. It's a very inviting place to be.

In Maine Hall it can be rather hard to find a computer, seeing how there are only four unless one ventures to a classroom. If you don't have a personal computer, you'll most likely need to travel to the library. The internet connection can be slow at times, but overall it's alright. IT is ver good at working with students/faculty that have technical difficulties.

There are always options that you can choose when it comes to your schedule. There are different days and times that might fit into your schedule better than others, and the administrative faculty is great about helping you put that together, if you need help!

There is a very diverse student population. This allows for students to feel welcome and at home.

Tuition & Financial Aid:
I feel that I am getting the education I paid for at Emcc. I got some financial aid and student loans. I do feel that my education will be worth the cost and will improve my future. I can say that I wish there was more guidance during the financial process.

My department is quite small, so many of my classes for my major are only offered at one point through the week. For me, it works out well but it makes it hard to work around my courses. I've heard that many of my classes will transfer.

My school has a variety of people who are in attendance, many are working and have families. The ethnic diversity is slim however. Many are open to getting to know new people, but some fear coming out of their shell.

Tuition & Financial Aid:
Financial Aid office is VERY slow and VERY disorganized. I'm in the last semester of my grueling 2 and a half year long program. I should not have to wait 6 weeks to get my financial aid. As a single parent, I need that money!

I chose this school because of its class sizes, i attended another school with much larger classes and i did not do so well. Also the affordability of the classes.

The Library at the Eastern Maine Community College is superb. It is on the smaller side but many of the books within are of priceless value! Many are famous/original works, available to us students. The internet capabilities within the Library enable us to access every library within the state and open free access to consumer reports. The entire "package" allows for excellent research.

A unique "thing" in my school is the department camaraderie. Whether it's automotive, fire science, arts, music, etc. each department is very close oriented and team focused helping each other out. Also Liberal studies seems to be thrown into everyone, so you get a taste of the "outside world" within the college.

The computer labs in the Eastern Maine Community College are many, and are functional. There is a large computer lab in the campus library and there are anywhere from 2-5 (20+ computers) computer rooms in each building. Accessing them is easy, using them is easy, therefore homework and assignments are very possible and in depth for all students.

Tuition & Financial Aid:
College is hard to pay for and difficult to accomplish with the way our modern economy is currently functioning. Financial aid is an actual "need" for many of us who want to further our education. The Eastern Maine Community College did an outstanding job with its financial aid office! Though them I had ever question answered, and the steps to get what I needed laid out clearly before me, in a step-by-step manner so that I could apply for what I needed in order to attend their school and begin the education I wanted.

Some of the teachers are really good about understanding hardships while others don't.

I have not graduated, so I am not familiar with the process.

This is exactly what you would expect from a community college. Its smaller than 4 year school but very good education. Its a good stepping stone for your college career.

automotive mechanic, school is M-F. I have prior college experience, so I didn't have to take the basic courses just the major courses.

The college does its best to make the schedules flexible because they do have many students who are parents and have full time jobs. They usually do a wonderful job of assisting students in their schedules. The only conflict is that because it is a small school class times may be inconvenient to some if not enough student sign up wanting the same time class. For example; I wanted to take American Sign Language II and morning or day classes are more convenient for me. I signed up for the class and it was later canceled and only offered as a night class because more students wanted it then and not enough wanted it earlier.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
