Let’s face it, Eckerd is a typical college campus. College students will be college students, and some experimentation is normal as kids test their freedom and boundaries, and begin to mature into adults—and Eckerd students are no exception. What’s important is that the College community acknowledges that some experimentation is expected, instead of pretending the issue does not exist. This way, the College can promote awareness and encourage its students to stay safe and informed.

Drugs, mainly pot, are present, but they are not a huge hang up. There is not a large drug scene here, and if it’s not your thing, there are plenty of other things to do and people to do them with no pressure. Some students don’t even notice drugs are here. The administration, especially security and RAs, are not okay with the use of drugs, but they are usually pretty fair in dealing with the problem. Cases are run through the student court, and most violators get off with fines and community service.

Drugs everywhere

There are sooo many kids that do drugs on our campus it's insane, particularly all the kappa kids. Its hard to avoid but I guess if you are away from those kids you can stay away from the drugs.I think the reason for all the drug use is because of the lax security, ive seen kids just drinking, smoking weed and dropping acid right in front of security guards and nothing happens..

There is a pub located on campus at the main food hall, but I do not drink or hang out at the pub.

NOT necessarily the 12th druggiest school in the US

Considering the recent review that many are outraged at, I have to agree. Basis off of a mere eight reviews is in no way a qualification for Eckerd College to reach that list. This campus is a college campus, for sure with its drug use, but it is not rampant, not forced upon any, and is generally a controlled issue. Any complaints that are ever caused appear to be taken care of and there is no pressure to join in the mischief.
