Financial Aid

Good academic financial aid available, was easy as it was part of the application process. I did not qualify for any 'needs based' so not familiar.

As you know Eckerd College's annual cost is a steep $42,000. The school offers a sweet scholarship of academic excellence that ranges from $8,000-$10,000. If your a resident of Florida you can also apply for various grants to help you out. Another way to earn some money through financial aide is if you qualify for federal aide work study based on "need," you can make up to $3,000 a year back. In all Eckerd College is a small private expensive school but don't let that discourage you. There are loads of scholarships out there that could help you in small or large ways to pay for school

Advice on Financial Aid

The thing to remember when trying to get a good scholarship package as a prospective freshman is grades do matter! Look into special scholarships for freshmen only, such as a research scholarship or a portfolio scholarship, and keep your grades up for the best offers. As you advance through college, it is increasingly harder to secure scholarships, unless there are some specific departmental ones, but don’t count on it. Loans are a lot easier to come by. There are also several work-study options on campus if you qualify; if you don’t qualify, it’s hard to find a student job on campus, but it is possible.
