How long were you a teacher there, i just recently applied at this school and got accepted.. i thought it was very appealing but at the same time this whole situation is new to me and very confusing. Id like to know more of what you have to say because i dont want to spend a fortune and move down to colorado for nothing, so please let me know more.
I was there for 1-1/2 years. Sorry to burst your bubble, but they'll accept just about anybody. They recently lowered the admission standards/requirements because they're that desperate to get people in the door. The place is in financial trouble, and their corporate office in Birmingham (Virginia Colleges is their parent company, and Education Corporation of America -- "ECA" is the parent company of them both) is leaning on them VERY hard to get more people in, and to do whatever it takes to keep current students from dropping out. Their first president was just asked to resign about a week ago, because the corporate office wasn't happy that he/the company wasn't getting more students in the door, and keeping more students. Have you heard about the Ecotech campus in Austin, Texas? Well, Virginia Colleges/ECA was all set to open an Ecotech campus in Austin Texas, too. Then they started having financial difficulties and laying people off, and now that campus in Austin is closed (never did open). Supposedly they're going to open it "in 2014" but the way they're laying people off and cutting services to students, I doubt they'll have the money to do that. As said before -- don't go to Ecotech. There are things they'll do (and get away with) that students will NEVER know, but that are close to being highly unethical. And they're getting away with that, so who knows how much worse they'll get as they struggle for more profits. Again, if you want a renewable energy education, go to Iowa Lakes in Iowa, or to Redstone College in Colorado!!! Don't waste your money with Ecotech. They won't even find you a job (although they say they will).
Thank You Very Much, My Bubble My Have Been Bursted! But It Is Better To Here Reviews From Someone Who Has Worked There And BeeN There. But Just A Question, Im Just Assuming You Were Cut Due To Funding And Maybe A Little Bitter Because Of It And That's Possibly Maybe Why Your Saying These Things? But I WiL Most CertainlyChecK Into These Other Schools That You Have Listed above
