I'm just starting, so I don't have a answer completely.

It hasn't been that easy. I started with other community colleges in mind. Yet, I chose Edgecombe Community College instead of Lenoir Community College.

It is more independent it is nothing like being in a classroom being taught. You have to be on top of the class work because you will get behind. You have to have the time set for the work, and also if you have kids you have to make sure they do not interrupt as you do need quietness when doing online work because it can be frustrating.

I have not really used the computer that often unless taking a post test for math and they work fairly fine to me.

The teachers are awesome if there is an emergency they understand fully what is going on and will look out for you on late work. They do treat you like adults and that is what I like about the school.

The resources at the school are very helpful when you are looking for something. The school have it in the hallway and inside of the student services and if you do not understand something there are faculty that can help you.

There are many things we have to learn for my major. We have learning labs, clinicals, field trips, etc.

The online classes, syllabys, etc are pretty much self-explanatory. If you have any issues it is mainly because of something you did not do. I am not an online class kind of person, but if I need to take an online class I will. I prefer the traditional classroom setting the best!

This school has a high rate of graduates finding jobs in their fields. One of the highest rates in the area.

This school doesn't have a gym, athletic fields, etc, This a very small school and they have the basics such as a student union, tutoring labs, a library, etc.

The academics are very in depth. Whatever your curriculum is you will definitely have to be studious and apply yourself. This school is more like a typical four year college, whatever grade you earn that is what you will receive. The teachers do not "baby" you or "hold your hand " to remind you of assignments, etc. They treat you like the adults you are. The teachers and staff expect a lot from their students because they expect you to excel. When I attended another community college, that school was a good school but it was a little too laud back as far as academics are concerned. Edgecombe is on a whole another level. It's more challenging and it prepares you academically to transfer to a four year school if you need or want to.

There are many types of students going to this school. There are the typical fresh out of high school students, working mothers and fathers going to school, first time middle age students. etc. Many of the students are really committed to furtheringbtheir education and is very serious and goal-oriiented.

The classes are flexible and I was capable of still being able to be there for my son around the time he would get home from school.

Tuition & Financial Aid:
The education you receive is well worth the costs in tuition, books, etc. The staff is very knowledgable and willing to help you with any and everything you may need. There are some that will even help you way more than what is exoected.

There is a wide variety of academic programs to choose from at Edgecombe Community College. Classes are offered in-classroom which is campus based as well as online. They also offered hybrid courses which is a mixture of online work included with classroom attendance/work. All of my experiences with each of my instructors have been phenomenal. Each of them respond promptly to emails and all questions were answered with the appropriate information. It has not been a problem to "get a hold of" them if needed.

Tuition & Financial Aid:
I know for a definite fact that the education and degree I am receiving is well worth the money being paid for it, whether it be an out of pocket expenses to me or financial aid reimbursement. After earning and receiving my Associates of Science in Nursing degree, I know that I will make a difference in the community where I will be employed because I am a compassionate individual who is dedicated to the nursing profession. I have only received financial aid once but the encounters and interactions that I experienced with the financial aid counselors were always helpful.

I enjoyed the overall experience. I was motivated and I keep the consistency and determination to finish my course of study. I had very caring instructors and my advisor was excellent with keeping me focused on the outcome.

For a school this size our college offers a lot of degrees and certificates. We have quite a few medical degree programs as well as engineering and child care programs.

I have not tried to get a job after taking classes here, but I know a few that have. Everyone I know that has completed the radiology or nursing program here has gone on to quickly find a job and start working.

I chose this school because I wanted to enroll in the Early College Program offered here. Edgecombe Community College is very supportive of our program and to me that makes them a great choice. Almost all of our credits transfer to any North Carolina University and the small class sizes make it easy to communicate with your professors.
