College Prowler Take
Nightlife is geared almost completely to college students around the Elon area. Saturday and Sunday are really big nights to party, but usually during the weekdays you can find a lot of people at local bars. Beer is really cheap on Wednesday nights at West End Station. Students also like going there because it’s so close to the University that you can walk, thus avoiding the risk of drunk driving, which Elon is strict about. Students also throw parties in their apartments and houses, which are usually within walking distance or a very short drive from the University. Many of the off-campus parties are themed, such as pirate, roll in the hay, highlighter, and much, much more. If you’re not into partying at frat houses, these parties are fun to go to. They usually never have a cover charge, and you don’t have to drink to fit in. Also, fights are extremely rare since most off-campus houses are Greek-affiliated or affiliated with other student organizations. Duke, UNC Chapel Hill, and Guilford College are all very close, offering Elon students a chance to get away for the weekend if needed.

All of the frats have multiple off-campus houses where most parties are held on the weekends. On weekdays the bars are always open, but that's really only helpful to students over 21. There's always something going on, and a lot of students are really into partying.

The Greek scene plays a pretty big role in the social scene. On- and off-campus Greek parties are always a big hit, but the bar scene is minimal. There are three bars total.

There aren't really parties on...
There aren't really parties on campus because our campus is pretty small. But the parties usually occur in the off-campus fraternity or athletic houses within walking distance. A lot of the nightlife is hosted by Greek organizations, but luckily, for the most part everyone is welcome, and it is free of charge. During the week, the majority of the people who go out go to one of the three bars---West End for dancing, Sandy's for heavy drinking and dancing, and Lighthouse for kareoke or bands.

The parties are good at West End...
The parties are good at West End Apartments. There is a variety of places like Brick House that are just dirty and usually owned by rude people looking to exploit girls. Sandy's and West End Bar are fun but getting over-crowded. Never go to Lighthouse.

The parties in the Greek courts on...
The parties in the Greek courts on campus are always fun and entertaining. There is one major bar off campus that has a patio, dance floor, and pool table area. The entire town of Elon is liquor-dry, so bars and restaurants can only serve beer, wine, and malt beverages.

Organization Parties
The theater students often have theme parties, as do the varsity athletes. Some other club sports have designated areas on campus where they live, and a party will always be going on, no matter what day of the week!
Club Listings
One of the best gay clubs in the area, Warehouse 29 charges $12 for people who are under 21 and $8 for 21 and over. There’s no real dress code, but this is not the place to be wearing your jeans. It’s a semi-casual, semi-sophisticated club. No fee for parking. Warehouse 29 1011 Arnold St. Greensboro (336) 333-9333 www.w29.com
Considered the “Studio 54” of Greensboro, this club is super active on Saturday and Wednesday nights. It’s only $5 for members and $7 for guests to come and party. Parking is available on the street right outside the club, with no charge. The dress code is casual—jeans to even nice party dresses is fine, including hats; but forget your torn jeans, throwbacks, or doo-rags.
Brewballs is the best for the older college students (only 21 and over allowed) to meet other people. Best of all, there’s no dress code and no price for parking. The cost to get in is pretty nice—only $5.

Sandy's is a student favorite because of its relaxed atmopshere. Attached to the bar is a food area, serving subs and all the fried food you can imagine.
One of the coolest things about West End Station is the fact that local bands often come and play while you sit back and enjoy yourself with friends. So close to campus and definitely the perfect college atmosphere (including the pool tables), this is one of the biggest hot spots around.
With meals starting at about $4 per person (and the most expensive only about $10), this place is ideal for a good drink and a meal. Two pool tables also add to the relaxing atmosphere that makes it easier for friends to chat or for people to meet. Bogey’s Sportsbar and Grill 931 Kirkpatrick Road Burlington (336) 584-4238
Ham’s has been rocking North Carolina since 1935. At this bar, not only can you get good drinks but yummy food like quesadillas and grilled mesquite chicken salad. Prices are pretty reasonable, usually ranging between $10–$15 per person. Ham’s of Burlington 1610 S. Church St. Burlington (336) 570-3099
Lighthouse is mostly known as a music venue; local bands typically play either here or at West End Station. When there’s no live music, Lighthouse often hosts a college/Top 40 DJ. Lighthouse Tavern & Deli 131 W. College Ave. Elon (336) 584-7481
