Things I Wish I Knew Before Coming To School
- Go to the Organization Fair in September.
- It’s not a good school for people who are undecided about their major.

- No one's going to be drafted for the WNBA from Emerson’s basketball team.
- Procrastination doesn’t work.
- To sell that graphing calculator because you probably won’t need to take any math classes.
Tips to Succeed
- Be sure about what you want to study before coming here.
- Do not wait until 10 minutes before class to print out your paper in a lab; disaster is bound to strike.
- Go to class.
- Join student organizations; they’ll help you get hands-on experience in your field, and begin to know whether you want to do it for the rest of your life.
- Move off campus sophomore year; you’ll grow up faster.
- Take tons of internships (yes, it’s that important).
- Take tons of internships.
- Use professors and their office hours as much as possible.
Urban Legends
- The College’s main intersection, Tremont and Boylston Streets, is said to be the windiest intersection in the country.
- The Little Building is supposedly haunted, as are possibly some of the dorms in Piano Row.
Traditions
- The Evvys - The Evvys is an annual awards ceremony, held in the spring to honor students who submit creative works.
School Spirit
Emerson students have a quiet way of showing school spirit. In fact, many don’t show any at all. But just because sports events don’t rally school spirit, that doesn’t mean that Emerson students aren’t proud of their education and the opportunities they have to get their hands dirty in their particular field.
