Transportation is good around Emory. Lately the campus shuttles have not been running on schedule, but that can be due to some construction going on around the campus. It would be more of a convenience if the shuttles ran a little later, especially as college students get hungry late and may need a snack at night or so. Overall, really good, though!

Health & Safety:
I feel relatively safe on Emory's campus, although once in a while you'll hear crime reports where somebody was mugged or approached by a criminal, but I've always heard about them far from campus. Although, after 9:00 , I always make sure to walk with friends just to be safe. Also, if you're ever stuck at the library, you can always call an escort service which is the late night shuttle that runs until 3 in the morning for getting back to the dorm safely late at night.

Quite variable, some brand new, some old and moldy

I received many scholarships but they were absorbed into my financial aid and I ended up not receiving any of the money. Very frustrating

I love warm weather so I love the high temperatures in Atlanta.

Emory is located minutes away from Downtown Decatur, whose restaurants offer quality meals at an affordable price.

There are plenty of computers available around campus, and you can get internet access anywhere on campus.

I'm from Florida, so while I'm used to the heat in the beginning and end of the school year, it doesn't make it any more enjoyable to walk cross-campus until you're drenched in sweat by the time you get there. It doesn't rain too often, so that commute problem is huge, but it's there. When winter comes, it's much more pleasant. No snow, but it is chilly.

It's very easy to get the drugs you want. You just have to know which frat/where your dealer is.

i came to emory because its academics are great. most people here are either pre-med, pre-law, pre-health or pre-business (the business school is a two year program). professors are smart, accessible and generally welcoming and friendly. emory is definitely not an easy school in terms of academics, but what you get out of your education is very rewarding. as long as you manage your time well, you should be able to manage your workload while keeping up with your social life
College Sophomore 2012-09-24T18:04:23Z
academics is important to everyone at emory, but they are also concerned about having a good time. emory students generally party quite a lot, on tuesdays and thursdays through saturdays. facilities are great, housing is very new and the dorms are really nice. emory spends quite a lot of money on construction and making sure the facilities are good. campus life..the slogan "work hard, play hard, gym hard" says it all

Police aren't there to bust you, they're just there to make sure nothing bad happens. Just don't blatantly walk around your drinks they will probably just tell you to put those away.

Cox is good, Duc is alright but good for breakfast and late night.

There are a lot of great selections to choose from if you have a car like me. Within 5 to 10 minutes, you can find literally any cuisine.

The drug scene at Emory University is not major, but definitely present. Some students smoke pot on a regular basis, especially in fraternity and sorority houses. Yet, those people are definitely avoidable since there are more students who don't do drugs or experienced them once or twice out of curiosity

The quality of dorms at Emory vary widely. Some of the newly built freshman dorms are like hotels, while the older building are extremely dirty. The housing option for sophomores are much worse than Freshman as it is hard to get a spot on clairmont and the main campus dorm selections are mediocre at best. As junior and seniors, on campus housing is extremely hard to get.

Macs everywhere. If you are a PC person and need to use a computer at Emory, you WILL become used to Macs. They are in the libraries, some residence halls, and various buildings around campus. The network works better closer to main campus, however.

Guys & Girls:
The girls are pretty, but the boys are average (and short)

When you're a freshman, everything is super fun. Frat row, clubs, other colleges, etc. However, I feel that upperclassmen have been through it all already. Frat row becomes kind of dull if you're not in greek life

The beginning and end of the school year are the best. That's when you see shorts, dresses, and sunglasses. However, October-March is kind of freezing for me (I am from Miami, though).

Emory is wonderfully diverse. Emory is 18% International Students, and of the domestic students, you could probably find a strong number of any race and religion.

I am an East Asian Studies major, and I have no regrets. My adviser is great and I'm sure that when senior year comes around, I will be able to work well with her to finish out my major. I intend to teach English in Japan after I graduate, and I am fairly confident it will not be difficult to do so (with the JET Program, if that means anything to you, Reader).

Being in a major gives you a sense of direction, and priority for certain classes, but otherwise, there's nothing particularly special about it.
College Junior 2012-09-15T23:43:27Z
Once you've decided a major, it's very simple to sign up. You go to that department and fill out a form - from there, the department takes care of it.

There are shuttle buses to transport students from the Fairmont Campus to the main campus. Emory University has a car loan program and other transportation programs.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
