Strange and Sporadic. Decatur-Atlanta is in the central area between New York and Florida weather. Unfortunately, Georgia weather is very unpredictable. At times weather will be as low as 35 degrees with 20mph wind...the next day it will be 55 degrees...and then the next day will be 68 degrees! So in all you have all your seasons spread out throughout the year. Weather channels will be your go to guide on weather in Atlanta before you step out of your house. Not much snow though~

Clubs, Bars, Concerts – Atlanta has everything to offer. Buckhead, Downtown Decatur, Little Five, Atl Downtown...has all the pubs, bars, clubs you can ask for. There are college nights and free covers as well vip nights for free based on RSVP. Bars have specials and many have neat beer exquisites.

Parks, Eateries, Trivias, Bars! Emory University is surrounded by fun activities such as visiting Virginia Highlands for a night out for cheap tapas. Once dinner is eaten, one may also grab a late snack of frozen yogurt at the many locations locally. Emory University has its own nature walk & park to use for picnics or simply for exercising. Bars are quite numerous such as Maggies & Famous. Many coupons are distributed to Emory students for free pizza and other various discounts. Trivia nights are held at Mellow Mushroom. Outside of Decatur, Atlanta is HUGE -- full of things to do! Georgia Aquarium, Coca-Cola Museum, Centennial Olympic park, Piedmont Park, golf courses, large concert venues, and screen on the greens (movie screened at parks).

There is lots to due at night at Emory. Local bars are sometimes busy with lots of college students. Frats do have some basic parties but the baseball team throws the best parties.

The facilities at Emory are great. Good gym, multiple basketball courts, tennis courts, and lots of cardio machines. The student center is the hub of activity on campus and is a great place to chill with friends. The library is where most students go to complete their homework or assignments. The campus is extremely beautiful with lots of marble buildings.

I live off-campus and use Emory shuttles to go to campus; very convenient

Health & Safety:
The safety and security on campus is extraordinary

Cliff Shuttles – cliff shuttles are my main source of transport besides my roommates' car. pretty convenient. Definetly need the car in addition to the shuttles if you live on clairmont though.
College Senior 2012-02-07T03:44:52Z
Clairmont is amazing because of the SAAC convenience, parking, kitchen-apartments, and accessibility to campus with the cliff shuttles. Living here next year!

I love cox. the variety is great and health conscious. I buy most of my meals there. DUC can get old with limited options and doesn't open early enough on weekends for athletes. Love the variety of Zayas and emory village though! Especially the new chipotle!

Not the Best – Transportation is really limited to having your own car or friends with cars. The buses are somewhat helpful, but the cost of parking in general, and a parking pass is very steep. Fraternity parking lots are very cramped but convenient. The options for parking are limited and can be far away depending of where you live.

No one pressures you to do anything, but like in aspect of life drugs are available to those who want them. It also depends on who you hang out with.

A Lot to Do in Atlanta – Atlanta is a big city with anything ranging from the mall, to the aquarium, to live music, to big concerts. The local attitude towards students is very accepting and helpful. There is always something to do off campus. The amount of restaurants and boutiques throughout Virginia Highlands and Buckhead give students a wide variety in itself. Big attractions like stone mountain, the Georgia aquarium, and sporting events also add to the allure of living in Atlanta.

Pretty Lax, No Smoking Though! the police are pretty chill. they give a lot of parking tickets, and are very adimant about the no smoking policy

Fun Stuff Far Away – there are a lot of awesome clubs and bars, but you need to pay for a cab for most of the places, unless you go to the local emory places, but it'll still cost like $5 total roundtrip. lots of clubs for 18+ and when you get older cool neighborhoods to go to

Pretty Good – We have a great library, decent athletic centers, good campus activities, anda gorgeous campus

Living on Clairmont Campus – Housing and facilities on Clairmont are great. The apartments, aside from the Tower, have everything you need. In the URC, the single bedrooms are a decent size, there are washing machines and dryers in each apartment, etc.
College Junior 2012-02-06T06:09:45Z
Basketball & Swimming – as you may know, Emory has no football team so basketball gets the biggest turnout as far as fans. Swim team is really good..so I hear. People don't really go to meets. Emory tries to have a Homecoming based around a soccer game, but it doesn't work for the most part.
College Senior 2012-02-06T04:19:54Z
The housing depends greatly. The newer freshman dorms and upperclass halls like Clairmont are great, but the older freshman dorms(Trimble, McTeiyre, Dobbs)are very out of date. One of my friends discovered mold growing in his room at Dobbs. Pretty gross especially for a school such as Emory.
College Junior 2012-02-06T04:18:36Z
Not Accessible – Although there are decent food options in the Atlanta/Druid Hills area, they are mostly only accessible by car.
College Senior 2012-02-06T04:15:39Z
Much to Do – Atlanta is a very happening place with very much to do. From Midtown, to Buckhead, to Little Five, there is plenty to do and lots of great entertainment venues for all sorts of events.
College Junior 2012-02-06T04:15:06Z
The Weather and Atmosphere – Emory has had amazing weather 90% of the time that I've been here. It's amazing. Everyone just always seems to be in a good mood and there's always a good vibe around campus and always something going on. From Wonderful Wednesday to events at the DUC to the farmer's market, people are constantly enjoying themselves on campus.
College Junior 2012-02-06T04:11:45Z
Social Life – There are a lot of diverse racial groups on campus, but they tend to clump together. Groups can get very cliquey, however I find that once you get to know one person in a group, the rest sort of accept you and its really easy to get to know more people. There are a lot of wealthy people on campus but it would be fair to say that people of all economic backgrounds are represented.
College Junior 2012-02-06T04:08:22Z
The Duc – There's always something to get there, and its always open. The desserts are lacking sometimes but the duc staff is always great. Its so convenient when you just get out of practice or classes and you're starving!!
