Parking, at least for the summer, is not too bad. I always have a spot and the parking garage is very close to my class. I do hate that most of the spaces are for small cars and are very tight. Also, the cost for a parking permit, while not too bad for the summer, is riduclous for the fall/spring. Luckily, we can ride the bus for free.

I am in the nursing program and therefore my grade is based pretty much on the nursing school building. In our building we have a comouter lab with a lot of computers and the printing cost isn't too bad. There aren't many colored printers and they are rather expensive. As far as wireless networks; they usually have a strong signal and move fast. At times I have trouble with speed, but the tech support in the nursing school is very helpful.

Health & Safety:
I always feel safe, even though we are near the hospital. I feel there is an adequate amount of security. The parking garages are safe and monitored and everyine seems nice. I haven't heard of any campus crime, but I haven't been there very long and it's summer semester so campus is bare.

There are some really good restaurants around Emory. The majority are within walking in distance and a new shopping center with even better restaurants is in the works. My grade for this will go up once that is finished.its extremely nice to take a break from Emory's food and have good food for any price range. There's fast food refine dining. I am very satisfied with the outside dining choices.

Students are spoiled. The variety and quality offered at Emory is just fine.

Facilities are amazing; everything else are less than average.

College Senior 2013-07-11T20:41:30Z
way too expensive. Should be free considering how much we pay for everything else!

Emory Advantage is a huge joke. I don’t know about the Loan Replacement program, but the Loan Cap program is a sham. This program caps it at $15000 of Subsidized Stafford Loan, not unsubsidized Stafford loans or private loans that you will also have to get to pay the cost. They also limit the amount of subsidized loans you can receive a year, so you basically won’t hit the 15k cap until senior year. The grants are pretty good, but do not expect to leave Emory only $15000 in debt. More like $40000

Health & Safety:
I've never felt unsafe on Emory's campus. There is a blue light system around campus and if anything occurs on campus, there is an email sent immediately to every student. Also, there is a program called saferide that anybody could call if they need a walking or driving escort.
I have had to fight for the correct financial aid both years so far. They sometimes change it if people call and say they do so much for the school, but some still don't get enough. It's a $60,000 school, and some can pay four times that amount, and others can't pay a dime. Overall, the financial aid department will listen to appeals and carefully analyze them.

Emory is one of the top universities in the entire country. If you don't rate the academics as some of the best, you're insane. Everyone is smart; you could be sitting next to someone who is going to win a Nobel Peace Prize, no joke. Most professors and advisors are extremely helpful and willing to work with you.

The weather is absolutely beautiful. It gets a little cold during the winter, but it doesn't snow (if it does you won't go to class for a week). Atlanta is humid during the beginning and end of the school year, but for the most part it's sunny and gorgeous.

Greek life is present on campus, but is not necessary to fit in like a lot of southern universities. There is delayed rush, which means rush takes place in the spring to allow students to make friends in their dorms and classes. The parties at the frat houses are mediocre. Don't go to registered parties unless you know a lot of the brothers and are an attractive girl.

I have never felt unsafe on campus. There are blue light systems everywhere, ALWAYS campus police around, and little to no crime. Obviously, you don't want to be walking down Clifton at night by yourself, but that's anywhere. There are non-students on campus almost all the time due to the public hospital on campus, which does worry some people, but again, I have never felt that my safety was in jeopardy.

There are two major dining facilities on campus, the DUC and Cox Hall. Upperclassmen usually dine in Cox Hall while freshmen, who have unlimited swipes for the DUC, dine in the DUC. This is a great way for freshmen to become familiar with each other. The only issue is late night dining on campus. Students either get delivery or if Zaya's is open, eat there.

Emory does a great job realizing the need for public transportation. The Cliff shuttles are reliable and easily accessible.

Just like in any environment, if you go looking for drugs, you will more than likely find them. However, if that's not your scene, your life will not be affected by them in anyway on this campus.

The MARTA station is right outside the school, and it can easily take you to the train station, which is the best way to get around Atlanta. Traffic regularly messes up the time schedules though.

The Film program at Emory is very great. They have a ton of resources for students interested in getting work experience, very well networked faculty, and are very knowledgable about the genres they teach. Highly recommended for someone looking for a prestigious and intimate department at Emory!

Many people rush for sororities and fraternities; they don't pressure you to join, but the Greek life is definitely intense for those who do join. There are commitments that you have to adhere to, and if you disgrace your house by behaving badly it's all on you. Greek students are mainly seen as those that are more social, outgoing, people who enjoy partying. There are Greek houses for many of the fraternities, as well as a Sorority Lodge that the sororities share.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
