Student Author OverviewWhat's This?

The Emory student body rates at a six out of 10 overall. Not horrible, but certainly not great either. Fashion is very important to many students at Emory, and it is noticeable when a new dress trend hits the school. The amount of money girls and guys spend on clothes can get ridiculous, but also helps the campus to appear more attractive at face value. Fitness is also very important to Emory students. Although one could not classify this campus as a handsome or pretty one, the students here do maintain a high level of fitness, in part due to the great athletic facilities and dining options available. Don’t be mistaken, there are beautiful people on campus; you just have to find them. As a whole, this campus tends to be fairly sexually promiscuous, with many students engaging in multiple one-night stands and unattached hookups in a month.

In terms of personalities, all can be found at Emory, though the most common is the determined-to-succeed type. Many students on the pre-med and the business school track are highly motivated people whose main focus is often their work. Students here still love to have fun, so it’s not hard to find some people to party with, either, as well as study with. There are a lot of very down-to-earth people and a lot of people who have led very sheltered lives, which really adds to the mix of personalities here. Don’t come to Emory looking for a southern belle or beau, and don’t come here if you are only concerned about appearances.

Student Body

Most of the girls are VERY FASHIONABLE. The white guys are cute but the black guys not so much. I mean it's a very hard school to get into so and we don't have a football team so i guess you can't expect all the guys to be hot and buff.

Attractive People Here

I personally disagree with the other reviews, there are TONS of attractive people here, and the people who say that there are ugly people here are probably not getting any. People here work out a great deal, and the gym is always packed. Their is huge amount of attractive people both in greek life, and around campus. People dress very well, mainly leaning towards preppy. Very few hipsters/goths here.

Okay

Emory is a very diverse school but people tend to hang out with people who are like them. A lot of very wealthy people, some of who join frats and sororities. Almost every one wears designer labels and there is a large population of international students, especially from East Asia.

What kinds of relationships have you had since coming to school?

How would you rate the social scene on campus?

Facts

Social Scene

The social scene on campus comprises many groups of students, including people involved in the Greek system. There exist introverted people at Emory who are only here to study and get a 4.0. There are also a great number of people who love to party and socialize. It is never hard to find someone to hang out with or party with, and it is also never a chore to find a study buddy or someone to fix your computer.

Hookups or Relationships?

A lot of people are in relationships, but there are ample amounts of people who only hook up. It's all about what you are looking for, but usually the people who primarily hook up hang out together, as do the people in relationships. The Greek System is rife with hookups and short on relationships.

Best Places to Meet Guys/Girls

Students at Emory are a studious lot, so one of the best places to meet new people for a possible relationship happens to be classes and in the library. It's easy to spark a conversation with a person from your class in the library, even if you have never spoken before. People also meet in student clubs and organizations, and in the gym. The best and easiest way to meet guys and girls is to be in the Greek system. Here interaction is forced most of the time, but is made easy through the wonders of alcohol. Other places where your lowered inhibitions will allow for a possible hookup are at Maggie's, Park Bench, and Buckhead.

Dress Code

New York business casual mixed with Bohemian Rhapsody. Emory students seem to follow the latest trend like it is their job, and the abundance of New Yorkers doesn't skew this theory one bit. Thursday nights bring out guys in black shoes and dress shirts and slacks, and girls in their finest wears as well. There is also a strong population of bohemian types that offset the more trendy dressers, but the often-audacious outfits some students choose almost always overshadow them. The weather allows for T-shirts and shorts for most of the year, which is always a comfortable way to get your learn on.
