The library is awesome because it has a pretty good selection of movies, cd's and games. It also has some computers so you can go in there and work on homework and projects. There are several books that are used in each field of work that we can check out that explain our specialty a little more. The librarian just is amazingly funny and she really is the life of the library.

It's really awesome because most of the students at my school are sound students so those of us in animation get to know each other better because there are so few of us. There aren't very many girls in my group and I know as we continue on the number will shrink even more but that just means we are going to be that much more valuable when it comes down to applying for the jobs.

There is a huge diversity when it comes to the students of Ex'pressions. Some are from out of state or out of the country so. Most of the students are male. There are several different students with different cultural back grounds and views. Everyone works well together to get their stuff done and get graduated on time.

My school has some awesome programs going on that are always there to get people involved. They had a barbeque right when school started to welcome everyone back and then they have several different clubs going on and free classes to help advance our skills in the programs we are in. They have this expert series thing where they invite professionals in the work force to come and talk to the students about what it takes to get there and to work with the students on their reels. They just started doing a voter registration drive and they have plenty more things planned that are coming up to keep the students involved and entertained.

Resources are top notch, except for in the way of jobs. It seems nepotistic...but isn't that the way??

It's a magical place, but it's a lot of work. Everything I dreamed of though.

They give the classes you need but only during their hours. You will need to quit your job because if you miss class you grade drops and if you miss more then 3 days you get drop from the class or a bad grade. The reason you need to quit you job is because the college is a 8 week program and the classes change every 8 weeks. Some times you get classes on Saturdays and some projects need a few more days to finish.

My school is very divers and everyone is nice to each other. The teachers are good and respectful to the students. Since its a small school everyone knows each other or well end up to get to know every in a year. The college make you feel like home and sometime better than that. I very happy I'm going to Ex'pression college.

This school has everything you could need in terms of actual equipment to use. There are lots of rooms fully decked out for student work. There are a few resources to help in transportation like a shuttle that goes to BART, but I have yet to look for any other helping hands.

Tuition & Financial Aid:
If You Know Accelerated Programs, This Might Be the Right One. Before applying and enrolling at Expressions, I went to DeVry University. Both schools are accelerated and have super high tuitions. Both schools are worth the money, but Expression not only has unique majors, but they provide all resources needed to really succeed. At DeVry, it was a more "fend for yourself" kind of mentality and atmosphere.

Huge Male Population – I gave this school a C on diversity because this school is largely dominated male population which being a straight male is not the best when you think along the terms of diversity of the sexes.

Major Animated Experience – My major is Animation and Visual Effects it is the broadest reaching major in my school, meaning that I will sample most of the Majors while keeping a focus on Animation. By the time I have graduated I will have dipped my feet into Motion Graphics, Sound Arts, Film making, and Game Art and Design. All I need to do is find my niche in this Industry.

Accelerated Problem – My schooling is on a accelerated program which means that I have 8 week semesters. This means that I have a small amount of time to sponge up all of the information that the teachers can through at us! It is only a problem when I do not understand a certain section that they are teaching, so it is difficult to retain that knowledge! On the bright side I've found that if I do not get something, the school offers so much resources that I can use on my free time to catch up, so this problem before becomes more of a challenge than a problem.

Pushes You for the Better – The school is very hard and sometimes very annoying. But it pushes you into being a better artist.
College Senior 2012-08-09T20:07:35Z
There Is No Flexibility – They do not transfer credits, only degrees. If your in a smaller program, there is no other time slot you can take a class except for the one your given. Its hard to have a job and come here,

Hard Program – In every course you choose to take at this school, its difficult. Do not come here if your not sure or you THINK it would be cool to do soothing. You will not make it. Come here if you know what you want to do and are prepared for crazy hours and extremely tough sources. You must be passionate to be here.

The best equipment for filmmaking, sound animation, game or design are in Ex'pression. Small classes are a blessing. Access to professional gear and studio is a plus in my book.

Is absolutely fantastic. Professors are very involved with the students and everyday I'm learning about digital media in ways that we can conduct business and improve the overall quality of our life.

Film $Poiled – In my first year at the Expression College of Digital Arts we the student's of Motion Film choose to direct and produce a movie about how a spoiled kid was awaken by a punk action. We have chosen a script with a message. I have acted as a Director and a Producer in this 8 minutes film. Simple Yet Perfect – The online GE is aimed to get a basic concept of the subject without loads of homework. Many assignments need the students to gather information for themselves inorder to learn instead of reading text and answering questions. The class can be hard if not taken right, but with following all the rules and committing to the research these classes make and easy and extremely effective learning style that isn't a waste of time.

This school felt like an amazing summer program that's geared towards hands on learning and and small student to teacher ratio. The administration is a little corporate but the teachers and classes are designed by genius'. Everything is real life application that moved a good pace allowing students to really understand the material before moving on. Expression also has many connections in the bay area as well as access to the most amazing musicians students could practice recording.

Environment and Program – Ex'pressions environment and unique accelerated program truly set it apart from other schools. The environment is extremely artistic and exciting. Everyone that attends the school wants to be there and are willing to do anything to keep going. Its an extremely exciting environment. The schools unique program is also very nice. Each class is only eight weeks long and all this all helps students achieve their bachelors degree in a matter of two and a half years. The school is extremely exciting.

Teachers Are Extremely Knowledgeable. The teachers at Ex'pressions are extremely knowledgeable in their field. Many work outside in the industry and are up to date with new technology, bands, movies, everything in their particular industries. Some teachers at the school are better at getting the point of the lecture across than others and some come to class unprepared. One time a teacher was flipping through a slide show that they did not make and literally went "I don't know what this is, lets move on". As a student that can be some what nerving. But for the most part the teachers are extremely knowledgeable.

Online Classes Are Difficult. Seeing how the school is set up differently than normal colleges, I will not be attending any actual on-site academic courses. They are all online and are only there to fulfill the academic side of a bachelor degree. The classes are all structured differently depending on the teacher. Each class has a book that you must pick up at the library in the beginning of the semester. Some are rather unorganized in the way that there is not set system. They often have random assignments due at random times of the week rather than a set structure. This makes it difficult because if you do not check one day then you might miss an assignment or you might not. These assignments can be anything from writing essays, responding to questions in the book, or answering questions on the schools discussion board. The teachers seem to be knowledgeable in their topics but it is rather difficult to determine this seeing how there are no real lectures and the courses mostly book work with answers that can be easily found in the book. They are typically very good about responding to any questions that you have via email and some are even willing to meet in person to discuss more serious issues. At the beginning of each week they send out emails that outline the material for the week.
I do not enjoy online classes. Not only are they difficult to keep up on, the material does not stick. It just washes away after the final. I do not enjoy online classes.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
