The facilities on campus are awesome. The library overs many tools we use on our daily lives.

The Computer networks are good, but not great. The labs are amazing and you'll always find a way to have access to a computer. The only complaint would be the speed of the wireless network!

FIDM is amazing! The atmosphere there is very creative and fun! Everyone is helpful and the campus is located in the heart of San Francisco; so there's always something to see or do!

I'm really new to this campus so I can't give an accurate assessment as of yet.

I can't really answer this yet as I haven't started taking a class on campus.

Tuition & Financial Aid:
I think the tuition is comparable to other schools of this type. It's expensive but hopefully will pay off for me in the future.

I'm able to take an all online education, even though I choose not to. But this is great for my schedule as I live out of town and work full time. All of my credits were transferable which was a great bonus.

The great thing about going to a design school is that there is a lot of diversity. There are so many types of people that go to my school of every age, gender, race, and fashion styles. What you'll mostly see is a lot of well dressed individuals.

My school is challenging but in a good way. The teachers push us to think outside of the box and use our creativity always. Yes, it can become very stressful but most us know that's the nature of our school. I believe that we are taught to be prepared for the industries that we are studying and we get a lot of relevant real world experience. I love my school and I'm glad I go here. This school feels like it was meant for me.

Students are really creative and graceful at critiquing each other. You will meet a few unintelligent people however (it IS an art school.)

The school's most impressive resources are the trend forecasting books available only to students. Also the materials room is filled with cool free swatches.

The school is in a convenient location, right next to Powell station. Classes are guaranteed , if you have a problem you can talk to your councilor and s/he can schedule you in.

We have a career center that has an open door policy, and the faculty is always willing to help out.

The professors here are amazing. They are experts in their fields and they do not withhold their knowledge from the students. These people go out of their way to teach the information in a manner that every single student will understand. To them, making sure the student can do the tasks that are thrown at them is a huge priority. Sometimes you may have to ask a question two or three times to get the answer you are looking for. Other than that I am delighted with the academic experience here at this school. The curriculum is set for each major and is taught in a set of ten weeks (1 quarter). Every quarter you may have one general study, but most classes are set to pertain to your specific major. Registering for classes can be tough. If you are not part of the first people to register on your day there is a good chance you will not be signed up for that class. Not to fear, there is flexibility with this issue. You can add// drop a class for the first couple weeks of the quarter. The workload is extensive, but is completable. Most of the time you will have a chapter reading assignment on top of a paper assignment or possibly a project. It is all about time management when it comes to workload.

The people at this school are here solely because they want to be here. Thus, they act in a manner that show this. It is rare to none that you will find a student who is not a hard worker. Most students not only uphold a full time schedule, but many have jobs outside of school. Many are involved or take parts in events that the school offers. Here we use the sources we have and make the most of them.

I am a fashion design major, the classes are exactly what you would expect them to be. Due to the fact that it is a career oriented school the classes are set in stone as to which you must take. The only flexibility that you find is being able to take them different quarters. I have learned and improved greatly from the point I started at though. The teachers are always willing to help you during/after class and during their business hours. This flexibility has helped with the skill level improvement that I have seen. The work load for this major is pretty equal to the rest of the majors. It takes quite a bit of time to complete assignments, but you will find that you learned a large amount from one assignment alone. Overall I am pretty content with my experience so far.

The wifi connection is slow whenever I am using my laptop, but other than that other networks work perfectly fine. Unlike other libraries, we don't have to pay to print stuff, it's free.

Our library data bass is amazing. We have full access at websites like Women's Wear Daily, Vogue Archive, California Apparel New, Hoovers, and Stylesight--all these websites require some kind of fee to get full access.

Yes, FIDM has a lot of "connections" at the career center, but they are all retail jobs. The jobs they offer and connections they have isn't very helpful for a student with an extensive background in retail who wants to try something new.

I am beyond satisfied with the quality education all my instructors provide. They all have an extensive background in the industry, and they are such great role models. Very knowledgeable, experienced, and they inspire and prepare students. The school itself is also great. Classes are small and spacey, just the way I like it. I’ve learned so much in such a short period of time. Only thing I do not like about my campus is the lack of job opportunities they offer. The jobs they provide us are the type of jobs high school students could get on their own.

I am a fashion design major. All of my instructors have worked first hand in the fashion industry and have a lot of wisdom to pass down. Some of my classes are for fashion design majors only; which is nice because we all get to mingle and bounce ideas and techniques off each other. Some of my classes are mixed with other majors like Merchandising or product development, which is a helpful way to network with our future business partners.

I feel like the learning resources are most unique to this school. Students have the option to view grades online as well as register for classes, pay tuition and fees and communicate with instructors. The IDEA center is amazingly helpful. There you can get help with just about any class. Some classes even require you to use the IDEA center. There is always someone there to help with a math problem and go over projects. The Career Center is also a very helpful place to go. There I was able to get my first job. Everyone is very friendly and helpful. One of the best parts is you are able to use the Career Center resources even after you graduate as long as you are still in the industry.

Tuition & Financial Aid:
I believe I am getting exactly what I am paying for. It is pretty expensive but while I was applying I was given many options and even received a scholarship through the school. The tuition covers the services like the career center (they really do everything to help you become successful in the work field!), library assistance, computer labs, sewing and pattern making lab fees, tutoring for all classes, all of your supplies and books and more. They make sure you know what you are paying for and how to utilize the resources you are paying for. They also help you to make sure you are staying on top of your financial aid.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
