Sometimes the wind and rain or even the cold in the winter months is pretty intense but since the buildings are so close together you don't have to spend much time outside, if any. Most of the buildings are connected internally so you don't even have to step outside if you don't want to.

We don't have any Greek life on the FIT campus.

Guys & Girls:
It was voted one of the worst colleges to go to for meeting single guys! The school actually is comprised mostly of girls.
College Senior 2013-11-15T04:09:48Z
The school is located on a block in the middle of Manhattan and the campus dorms are right next to the other buildings. No one really drives to school that I know of, mostly the subway is used.

Great new programs and technology along with great iMacs as well as PCs. The only problem is that we need a bigger lab!

We have no Greek life on campus.

There are many trains walking distance from the school, which is great for commuter students.

The dining hall closes at 7pm, which is very inconvenient. A lot of options aren't given and eating the same types of food can become really tiring.
College Sophomore 2013-11-09T23:41:13Z
Good service and excellent programs. The labs just get really full at times and finding a computer can be difficult.
College Sophomore 2013-11-09T23:39:25Z
The process is easy as long as you have all the required documentation.

The city is buzzing at night with things to do.
Recent Alumnus 2013-10-20T15:51:19Z
Its NYC! There's always something to do, you just have to be open to it.

Health & Safety:
FIT security guards and policemen check your I.D whenever you enter a building, there have only been a few times when they did not check my I.D because of the crowds. Security doesn't even check your bag when you enter the dorms so I have seen people sneak alcohol in their rooms, I have have know better from FIT security.
College Sophomore 2013-10-07T22:52:10Z
FIT's computer labs in building D are available all hours of the day except very early morning and very late at night. Printing a page isn;t that expensive, about 10 cents a page. It can take a while setting up the network when living in the dorms.

NYC has a great atmosphere. Most of the campus activities are free but in NYC you can only do things if you have money. there are parks, restaurants everywhere, movie theaters, and shows.

Guys & Girls:
There is a lot of diversity. More females than males though. In some of my classes its 100% girls.

Its NYC, parking is hard to get!
College Freshman 2013-10-06T03:52:03Z
The campus life is nice, but we are in NYC so most people are enjoying the city then staying on campus. It isn't that popular other than between classes.
College Freshman 2013-10-06T03:47:23Z
There are a variety of options, but I am a picky eater and the only things I eat at the dining hall are not too healthy and the healthy stuff isn't part of the meal plan. I am required the meal plan with my dorm. I am kind of stuck into eating the same thing every day. they do have choices but not that are available to me. I don't want to gain the freshman 15 due to the lack of choices I have for me.
College Freshman 2013-10-06T03:43:22Z
The professors are very helpful, they have been in the industry for years and have a lot of helpful information for us. They know how it is and are willing to help out the students to be successful. Also we have a Career Counseling center that helps put the students in internships, jobs and helps write resumes!
College Freshman 2013-10-06T03:38:05Z
We have ids to get in and must show them to get into every building. We have strict rules on visitors, day and over night. It is a dry campus and the consequence is big if the rules are broken. In my dorms, there is a rule where we cannot have furniture or appliances in the room. We have a room check by 2 random RA's and if they see something we shouldn't have they take it and the Residential Life must decide the action taken on the student. Much more rules apply in this college as well.

Located within walking distance of almost every major subway line in NYC.

Health & Safety:
The school is very good about sending emails to inform everyone about anything that may have happened on campus or in the city. There is always an adequate amount of security staffed.

Fashion Design Major is the TOUGHEST of the nation probably. From Day 1 you enter this major you are smothered with work. It is all do-able if you are great at time management. The professors really push you to your limits, making you think outside the box. Workload only gets tougher as semesters pass. You can make connections with the professors if you want to. Sometimes they announce internship opportunities that they want you to get in on.
College Sophomore 2013-09-12T18:20:11Z
Of course, we cannot always receive the perfect financial aid, but the amount I received was fairly generous. When it comes time to file the FAFSA and the tax returns, they have staff advertising and reminding the students to file it early. I didn't run into any major problems, but after filing my FAFSA sometimes they ask, again, about my independency/dependency.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
