Student Favorites

- If you have the meal plan, you are stuck with the cafeteria food, unless you are willing to spend extra money—there are countless eating options within walking distance of FIT.
College Prowler Take
FIT is unlike a traditional college when it comes to campus dining. A majority of the people found in the cafeteria are students forced into the meal plan because they live in a dorm room that does not have a kitchen. The typical types of college food are available here—pizza, fried foods, junk food—and gaining that Freshman 15 can definitely happen to dorm residents if they don’t watch what they eat.
A major bummer about campus dining is that there is only one main cafeteria and the hours are not as accomodating as students would like them to be. The food is also only average and pricey. Students have so many cheap options all over New York City that the cafeteria is the last place they tend to go to for food.

There is a cafeteria, which is not too bad. There are fresh grilled foods and sandwiches. Just don’t plan on eating there every day, because it can get pricey—unless you are stuck with the meal plan. |

There is only one cafeteria, the Retail Food Court. The food there is average; some of the dishes are hit or miss, although they do work hard to keep it vegetarian-friendly. There are plenty of delis, pizza places, Chinese places, and fast food restaurants in a three-block radius of FIT. |

The food at FIT is overpriced. You can get a huge slice of pizza for $2 up the street on 7th Avenue, rather than buying pizza from the cafeteria. |
