Student Author OverviewWhat's This?

New York City has something to offer everyone when it comes to off-campus dining. The city features world-renowned chefs, hidden hot spots, the best delis, and some of the best pizza in the world. There are also many restaurants that cater to specific needs, such as vegetarian or kosher. Eating in NYC can be a little expensive, though, but if you wander around, a lot of restaurants have lunch specials or even student discounts. Take advantage of the famous street vendors; you can find a lot of great food for a cheap price this way.

Another advantage to NYC dining is that a lot of restaurants and delis are open late or 24 hours. You can venture outside at midnight and get whatever you desire. This is helpful when you need a quick snack for those late-night study sessions or after a crazy night out at a club.

Great Variety

Rose's pizza is a great place near the school. Chipotle is right next door. And whole foods is a short walk and carries great healthy choices.

Amazing Deli Between 55Th and 56Th on 7Ave

Well first of all, all the restaurants, coffee shops and deli's around FIT give FIT students a 10% discount which is great if you wanna get a coffee at Dunkin Donuts. Columbus circle is definitely a good place to hang out and it has lot of great restaurants and deli's around it. There is a small deli 2 blocks aways from columbus circle which has the most amazing pasta, fresh maid and you can choose the mix of the toppings and everything. the prices are totally affordable and great for students! It also has a big variety of sandwiches to paninis over to pastries.yummy and cheap!

Can Definitely Be Pricey!

On campus dining is ideal for broke college students. You obviously have a prepaid meal plan so it is good. You get a good assortment: pizza, fresh cooked pasta, freshly made sandwiches, the grill with hamburgers, etc and a salad bar. But if you choose to dine off campus, you will need an income however small, because prices are quite up there unless you plan on eating fast food all the time. There are great options around though from Greek to Chinese with student discounts sometimes! Home On 8th is good for Chinese and Silom Thai is a great place for thai cuisine.
