Overall ExperienceWhat's This?

The majority of students agrees that the quality of education they receive extends beyond the price that is paid. The FIT faculty has extensive knowledge of the industry and delivers real-world experience to students. Students are also given the chance to expand their learning outside of the New York City classroom, with internships and study abroad programs. Those students who tend to look negatively at FIT are those who are uninvolved and do not take advantage of what the school has to offer.

With the lack of a social scene, lack of a real campus, and the overwhelming amount of girls, students overlook these aspects and value the experiences and opportunities instead. New York City is where dreams can happen. If you stay focused and work hard, you will develop skills and confidence that will lead to a successful career.

I'm a Transfer

I transferred from an exceedingly overpriced and terrible design school in North Hollywood, so for me, this place is great. I got a 2 year degree back home, and here, we're starting on things that the upper division kids would usually wait a year to do. It also has a great reputation in the industry and is a pretty creative place and they're always having cool discussions with designers (Rodarte, Olivier Theyskens, Prabal Gurung).

School Experience

My experience at school so far has been AMAZING. I love it and honestly never want to leave! You have amazing class, great teachers, and have an amazing social life. This school is a very focused school which I love. I am VERY involved and think that that has made my experience even better. I would not choose any other school but FIT if i had to do this again.

OK

It's okay. I like that there are a lot of opportunities to gain experiences and network, but I often don't feel very challenged in the classroom and I think the classes are slightly too long. It's hard to retain information after a sitting there for hours.
