Student Author OverviewWhat's This?

There are several forms of transportation in New York City, which can potentially be cheaper than owning and maintaining your own car. MTA (Metropolitan Transportation Authority) offers a bus and subway system, and there is also the most obvious form of transportation: taxis. However, the most important form of transportation in New York City is your own two feet! This is a walking city, with most of New York being flat and perfect for strolling around. It can be the cheapest and sometimes fastest form of transportation. Walking is a perfect way to explore New York City.

New York City also has access to the Long Island Rail Road and the New Jersey Transit, with connections at Penn Station and the Metro-North Railroad, with connections at Grand Central Station.

Subways Are Really Convenient and Cheap.

Subways are so easy in New York City and it is only 2.25 a ride no matter where you are going and you can transfer trains for free. At first they can be confusing reading the map is easy and you catch on quickly.
