The weather in New York City is one of the first topics to come up in conversation when attending school at FIT. Students have become accustomed to checking the weather every morning, in order to dress accordingly. Looking outside can be deceiving. New York experiences the four seasons: a hot summer, a cool fall, a freezing winter, and a late but enjoyable spring. Students who attend FIT must have a wide range of clothes in order to be prepared for any type of weather.

Really, with the proximity of the dorms and public transportation, it's easy to get to class regardless of the weather....few snow days unfortunately =(

Newbie

I'm new to New York so it's me that needs to adjust to the weather. Due to the hurricane earlier though, classes were pushed back a week and cancelled. But I wonder if they'll cancel on really bad snow days (seeing I'm a commuter)

Super Cold Winters

Well the only time weather is a problem is in the winter time when it snows really badly. Unless it's a blizzard classes are cancelled, but other than that it's out in the snow you go.
