Student Author OverviewWhat's This?

Athletics are a relatively major part of campus life. Some varsity sports get all the attention, while underrated sports sometimes lack support, but overall, the Rattlers have a huge fan base. Family, friends, faculty, and students come out in big numbers to football, basketball, and baseball games, and there is no doubt that the Rattler community has lots of pride. The sports at FAMU get respect even when they don’t win, and the gyms and stadiums are always filled with students rocking the school’s colors of orange and green. The Student Government Association also hosts pep rallies on Fridays before big games to get the students pumped for the upcoming match-up.

The University also offers intramural sports, and students come out to these games to support their friends, as well. The athletic facilities are always getting upgraded; just recently, a new gym was built that can seat about 3,000 people. Overall, the pride that Rattlers students have for the school is phenomenal. FAMU may not have nationally known award-winning sports teams, but it has huge pride in its athletics, and the students bleed orange and green.

Everyone Loves Rattler Football

Football season is the most exciting season for Famuans. Vendors come out along with long time alumni. As for other sports such as basketball volleyball and tennis students are very supportive

School Athletics

I believe the schools spirit and athletics are outstanding. It reminds me of high school when the sports are still fun but they play with all they have.
