Campus officials don’t tolerate students who break campus rules and regulations. There is a zero-tolerance policy, and the use of alcohol and drugs are not allowed on campus. Students who are caught breaking the rules will be punished. When it comes to attendance, professors are pretty strict. After about five absences, some teachers will automatically fail you. Dorm visitation is also strict—there are set times when students can have guests of the opposite sex in the dorms, and they must sign in at the front desk with a valid Rattler ID. The RAs will hold on to the guest’s ID until he or she leaves the building. If someone of the opposite sex is caught in your room without going through the proper check-in procedure, you will be fined $250. There is no curfew for students who stay in the dorms, but students must keep their room clean at all times or will be fined $75.

Whenever there is an event on campus, police are always making sure that none of the rules and regulations are being broken. When it comes to parking, the police are very strict—they will write you a citation even if you were only parked for about five minutes! Oh, and the officers here never forget a face. As long as you follow the rules on campus, you won’t be penalized.

Make Sure You Get a Student Decal

Parking Services is not lenient at all when it comes to illegal parking! Whether you're parking in a faculty space or you're parked in General Parking without a decal, those ticket machines are ready at all times. I gave the grade of a B because sometimes things come up where you are not able to find a parking spot. The student vehicle to student parking spot ratio is horrible and, although I feel that Parking Services should give students a break, right is right and wrong is wrong--they are only doing their job.

I don't know about rules affecting student's social life because i'm a non-traditional student. The rules affecting academic life seem to be pretty standard.

teachers seem to not have to adhere to any professional codes of conducts, yet it is demanded of the students.
