Sorority housing is not the best. They are put in very old houses. It's best to stay in an apartment.

Greek life is very important and rich in tradition at FAMU, and many students become involved in a Greek organization before they graduate. The Greeks here are also heavily active—they are always hosting and organizing educational forums, community service events, and campus activities, and they throw the best parties. Housing is available to some Greek organizations, and there are some options in the works. Members who don’t stay in their Greek house stay in other off-campus locations.

The rest of the campus views the Greek community as top-notch. If you are a Greek on campus, then you are someone. In general, students who are not Greek wish they were or are about to become involved. It seems like Greeks get all the attention here, and alumni Greeks always return to the university in big numbers for homecoming. However, becoming affiliated with a Greek organization is not for everyone. But those who are involved express how much it changed their lives for the better. FAMU Greeks are really committed to service and tradition and are not as stuck up as members of Greek organizations at other universities.
