Student Author OverviewWhat's This?

The University has all kinds of students: guys and girls who are full of themselves, intellectuals, nerds, jocks, or creative. Basically, FAMU is just a bigger high school. The average girl is either a Greek (or wants to be), a model, cheerleader, athlete, has an after-school job, or is affiliated with some organization. She likes to be the center of attention, and she and her crew think they’re the prettiest on campus. The average guy is either an athlete, Greek, in the band, has a job, likes to party, or is in a business organization. He thinks every girl wants him but only gives a select view the time of day.

Overall, FAMU students relate to one another well, although students from the same areas seem to flock together. There are more girls than guys but that ratio does not harm the dating scene because some students have boyfriends or girlfriends at Florida State University or another school. Sexual activity is not that prominent on campus. Students are more reserved and like to keep things on the low between them and their partner. So, unless you tell people your business, they will not know it. However, flirtation seems common at campus events and in class. Overall, FAMU has lots of attractive girls and guys of all different shades of colors, and both sexes know how to dress—some people even refer to FAMU as a fashion show because the students always look nice.

Here at FAMU we have the best of the best. The best looking guys and the finest girls from what all the guys that visit here say. We have a lot of school spirit and we take great pride in our football games. As far as social life if you aren't in an organization you are basically a nobody. As far as the way we dress we are really laid back and as far as the modeling troupes they are the only people that take fashion over the top. And the relationships on campus are ok but if you are coming to the hill to find someone I wouldn't say that your going to find them right away unless you are blessed to meet your perfect match.

We Love Fashion

Everyday is like a fashion show on campus. There are many handsome men and pretty ladies on our campus. There is also a good vibe on campus and almost everyone is friendly.

Facts

Social Scene

There are always social events at FAMU or in the surrounding area. Greeks and other campus organizations frequently throw parties. Students are outgoing and usually support other students by attending their events. Most students like to go forums, parties, fashion shows, and talent shows held on campus.

Hookups or Relationships?

There are a lot of random hookups here, but mostly among underclassmen. Upperclassmen seem to be in more serious relationships. However, there are single guys and girls who are looking for relationships but haven’t met the right person yet. The dating scene is hot and surprisingly sort of private. Unless you let people know you’re involved with someone, they usually can’t tell. But there are a huge number of attractive guys and girls here.

Dress Code

A lot of students have their own personal style. However, for convocation, presentations, forums, and meetings, students dress in business attire. For regular classes, students dress in clothing that fits their own styles. There is no set dress code, so students wear whatever they'd like. The girls at FAMU enjoy wearing tights, dresses, skirts, and boots, while the guys usually wear plaid shirts, designer apparel, and Jordans. Most students enjoy shopping at Goodwill for clothes.
