The weather in Tallahassee is mild year-round, but it has its tricky moments. In the fall, the weather is usually warm and pleasant, but some days can be very hot and humid. The temperatures can range from 60 to 90 degrees all in one day. During the first half of the fall semester, students still wear their summer clothing.

The fall semester falls in hurricane season, and it’s normal to expect some rainfall and thunderstorms. The last part of the fall semester is humid, but a cold front usually comes along around mid-November. Luckily, FAMU students experience mild winters. In the spring semester, the weather is breezy and cold, with lows in the 50s. But, FAMU students should expect a lot of sunshine—Florida is known as the “Sunshine State” for a reason! Overall, the weather is great year-round; it’s never too cold and rarely too hot, although the humidity can be a bit bad sometimes.

Sunny and Beautiful

Well it's in Florida, so obviously there's a lot of sun. It can get pretty hot during the early fall and late spring, but the winters aren't usually very cold. We aren't near a beach, but there are pools that offer an enjoyable atmosphere and we are far enough inland to miss most major hurricance damage.

Tropical

Its sunny and bright almost everyday day. The weather is pretty predictable but you should always carry an umbrella in case of random showers.

Weather

The weather it affects us students somewhat on campus. It really affects us when there is a tornado watch in the city, or when out of the blue it just starts raining down us. In Tallahassee you really have to be cautious on what the weather is going to be like before you start your day.
