Student Author OverviewWhat's This?

FAU does not have any on-campus houses. To go to a college party, students must travel off campus. Many fraternities throw fun parties on the weekends; however, during the week, clubs are the place to be. Every club/bar has its most popular night during the week. Often, there are theme nights and ladies' nights during the week, as well. Murphy's is a local bar and is the most popular choice on Tuesday nights. Scoop is a brand-new bar and offers something for everyone, even for those under 21.

Clubs and bars are generally more fun than any party, and although it does cost a cover charge to get in, there are many promoters that go to FAU, and it's very easy to get on a list and get in at a reduced rate. Being so close to West Palm Beach and Fort Lauderdale, students can also enjoy the nightlife of these cities. Ibiza in West Palm and Slim's in Fort Lauderdale are popular choices, but clubgoers must be 21 or older to get in. Overall, Boca Raton is not much of a college town; therefore, the nightlife is severely lacking. However, your time is what you make of it. Students are able to find fun things to do and enjoy themselves.

Its Okay

The night life at FAU is okay. There is a ton of things to do but its not really towards college, it is more everyone who lives in the area. It doesn't feel like a college town.

Is in the Center of Everything.

If you have a car and some friends, you're golden. Even if you dont have a car, the campus provides party buses to Miami all the time at least once a month. Boca is in the center of everything - the city itself might be a snore, but Ft. Lauderdale, West Palm, and Miami are not! And even if you're not a party person, there's plenty of safe stuff to do around the city Sororities and Frats are active in social events as well.
