Student Author OverviewWhat's This?

Parking on campus is kind of free—it's included in a mandatory Transportation Access Fee. So everyone is required to pay for parking in some way, but it's really only beneficial for those who have cars. So you don't have to pay for a permit because you already are paying with tuition!

Students can park in blue permit and green permit lots. Their permit stickers should be affixed on the outside of the driver's side of the back windshield, and the permit cannot be altered in any way. Students should make sure that the permit is visible at all times while the vehicle is parked on campus. If a permit is not properly displayed and a student gets caught, he or she can pay a fine of $25.

Parking Is Horrid

Attempting to park on campus is like the students being in some other form of The Hunger Games. Usually, your best option is to get to campus at least 30 minutes early so that you can find a parking spot. A lot of the availability depends on the time of day it is. If you live on campus, then you'll have nothing to worry about usually!

High Availability but Low Convenience

IN the beginning of the year, most kids will be ticketed/fined if they don't have a FAU Permit tag on their car. The need for a car on campus isn't really essential, even though this school is known as a commuter school. There is a lot of available parking space depending on where you need to go on campus, but the convenience is more of a hassle than just biking or skateboarding to class, especially around morning and lunchtime.
