For the most part, Boca Raton weather is hot and balmy—so bring your tank tops, flip-flops, and short-shorts. However, the South Florida area is also susceptible to tropical storms and hurricanes, so students should also be prepared for that extreme. Rain coats, umbrellas, and rain boots are encouraged (although sometimes they won't do much to protect you when the weather gets really bad with strong winds and floods).

There's a link on the FAU Web site to weather updates and warnings. If students are concerned about whether classes or canceled or not, they can check out the site for updates.

Hot

It is very hot in South Florida with temperatures typically in the 90s. It also rains a lot. June to November is hurricane season and classes can get canceled for this but not usually.

Nice but Unpredictable

Here at FAU it is almost always sunny. However, it could rain at any time. Forecasters are usually wrong about the weather.

Decent All Around.

It's South Florida, so of course it's going to be humid and hot. But the days that it does rain it's pretty predictable and the rain brings much needed cooler weather on campus. Just be prepared to wear shorts and skirts and flip flops a lot.
