There really isn't much going on at FCIM aside from a student government association and one additional club that some students put together. There are no campus activities except for maybe pulse day that occurs once per semester. We do have a library which had barely functional computers but I am thankful that a recent graduate donated a couple new computers to the school because the old ones were a headache. The school also lacks aesthetics as most of the classrooms are in portables which the administration claims to be "temporary" for the past 5 years or more.

I am sad to report that there are no special things that set my school apart. This is one area where my school falls tremendously short.
College Senior 2013-07-03T00:45:19Z
The curriculum at my school is rather uniform. Everyone who enrolls has to take the exact same courses and there are no additional options or electives offered. There is not a class registration process (because it is automatic) nor are there special study programs. As with all colleges some professors are better than others but for the most part the professors here a pretty good and very knowledgeable which can perhaps make up for certain weaknesses in the curriculum.

I am majoring in acupuncture and oriental medicine and the program is basically what I expected. I just wish that the curriculum made time for more diagnostic skills education which is crucial for shaping an effective acupuncture physician. I am taking classes on acupuncture, herbs, and also western medical sciences which is really neat. I really like the merge of western science and alternative medicine.

Tuition & Financial Aid:
The Tuition/Financial aid process went smoothly. I cannot give my school an A because they are lacking in many areas and I do not feel that what I pay in tuition is comparable to the quality of education that I am currently receiving. The curriculum could be better and there are many topics that should be expounded upon that are barely covered. Some of these topics which are crucial to developing knowledgeable and effective physicians. Even with the negatives of my institution, I can not say that I have not learned a tremendous amount of knowledge that I did not know before and ultimately my education here will be a stepping stone to advancing my career and profession.

All the computers were donated to them from goodwil. Their Internet is probably stolen from the clinic next door.

Tuition & Financial Aid:
I owe so much but at least all the other schools were worth it. This piece of junk school was not worth a penny.

Student body always looks miserable and zombie mode because they are being used to treat patients, so the school could pocket all the funds. The students are all just used as a stepping stone without getting any great education in return

This school should be closed down so people don't be fooled and waste their hard earning money. The clinic should close so the patients won't be treated like trial and error lab rats

Worse campus I ever seen. The so called clinic, looks like a rundown play house. Looks like a hurricane will take it out in one blow.

It's embarrassing to mention you even attended at this hole in the wall school. Overall, it is not worth mentioning I went to this school.

The professors are so unpaid that they don't even want to teach!

This school is a joke and the students are so unprepared and wander off like lost puppies...that's how much you gain from this institution!

Steer away from this wack scandalous institute. It is a waste of money and education spent. I have only been here a semester and realize what kind of low quality of education I've been receiving. The school are owned by a private man that lives elsewhere. The building and faculties are neglected. The best word to describe it is "rundown". The professors can't teach without reading word for word from a book or PowerPoint. Once I completely transfer I'm reporting this school to BBB. My biggest regret is wasting thousands on this school. What a joke! I'm glad to hear they got put on probation. In time it will shut down and not steal thousands of dollars every semester on innocent students, in fact I'm surprised they haven't shut down already. Perhaps they are good at bribery to not be closed down. Good luck at other schools. Steer away!!

I hope that when the school gets audited by NCCAOM they are put under review and ultimately closed. I have seen them alter medical records, some of the professors' only qualification is having graduated from FCIM just a semester or two before beginning to teach there. The rules and handbook are regularly changed and if you do not agree there is no recourse, you are simply locked out of your nationally required internship until you concede to their new demands. Filing a complaint is nearly impossible be it for damage done to your car in the school parking lot or against an administrator. What the school claims to offer and what it actually offers are two very different standards. I only stayed at this school because I could not afford to move out of Orlando. I have learned enough mostly due to my own independent studies and efforts which is fine with me. I don't need hand holding. What I do need is fairness across the board for all students, not just the chosen ones; and the accreditation which will allow me to sit for my board exams. If you have the opportunity to go to another school for alternative medicine I suggest you do so.

No Flexibility – The schedule is the schedule there is no flexibility. You either are in day class or night class. There is no assistance in this issue and no hope! This school does not accomidate the student. They basically do not provide quality environment, supplies, education! You do not get your money's worth AT ALL!!
College Sophomore 2012-03-22T01:51:05Z
SO Dissapointed – Paying allot and got verry little. Overcrowded, not enough staff, no real professors mostly just people with acupuncture experience but no real teaching experience. Dirty treatment rooms, dirty bathrooms. No working computers except one! Wifi down ALL the time, printer working whenever it wants to. Basically bad school
College Sophomore 2012-03-22T01:05:52Z
Worst school ever – Besides the fact its located one of the most dangerous area of orlando, the location itself is dirty, dingy outdated. The facility has nothing truly to boast over other than their library which is nothing major anyways. The location is too small for the amount of students poor staffing which is overwhelmed with work. The instructors are not qualified to teach although most are nice, nice doesnt equal education. 2 out of the 4 hours you are basically killing time. To top it off they dont care about the student the student comes second not first. Amidst the gossip of internal affairs and pride over a school which is NOTHING you still have to pay an enormous 7,600 per semester which only goes up in price! Per semester!!! There is only one working computer in library, your lucky if the printer works for you and expect to get sick often! There is fungus in most classrooms and they DO NOT CARE!!! But give them their money please :) What a JOKE of a school! They are the ONLY school in orlando so basically are a monopoly and they know it which is why they get away with half the stuff they get away with. If you do attend GOOD LUCK! Because you will definately need it!

FCIM Is Post Grad – FCIM does not offer undergraduate classes. Everything mentioned is in regards to their joke of a master's program.
Recent Alumnus 2011-12-11T16:54:30Z
ZERO Flexibility – FCIM regularly cancels classes they use to recruit students. They alter schedules mid semester, remove classes from the curriculum regardless of interest. They fail to follow their own standards set out in the school and clinic handbooks. They fail to show leadership, organization, cleanliness, or a desire to help students or staff.
Recent Alumnus 2011-12-11T16:44:37Z
Go Somewhere Else – The clinic is dirtier than a free clinic, the rules and expectations are different depending on which day you have class and which supervisors are in the clinic at the time. The clinic director is a director in name only. She is not respected by staff or student because she is neither experienced or consistent. The curriculum gets altered THROUGHOUT the semester, so you may or may not take all the classes or extra classes during the semester. While describing itself as integrative, FCIM only teaches Western Medicine and Traditional Chinese Medicine. No 5 element or Korean or Japanese styles. And while we get a wonderful western background, the integration part is often left to the side. FCIM was a DECENT place when I started 2 years ago, it has steadily decreased in quality and value. I don't regret choosing acupuncture, I just wish I had chosen my school more carefully. I give the school a D because the western doctors are amazing, otherwise it would have received a failing grade.

They have management preparedness classes, that will aid you after graduation.

Career Center Unhelpful – After I graduated, I had trouble finding a job in my field. So naturally, I went to the Career Center for help, as it should still be an asset to me post-graduation. However, I was disappointed. I felt like a number, like I was swept under the rug after commencement. It's as if the school's sole focus is to find new fresh and happy faces for their prospective pamphlets.

Nothing Transferred – The main reason I chose this school was because of how flexible the class schedules are. I am able to work around my personal schedule, which is great. I attended another school before coming here but many of my credits didn't transfer, which is a bummer. But the convenience of my new school outweighs the non-transferrable credits.

Most Work Full Time – Mostly, my school consists of working-class people with full-time jobs or families. They often juggle many different roles in addition to being students. While they are happy to socialize and make friends, this is not a priority. They are getting an education so they can seek a different life or career.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
