Being that the University is small, students do not have many sports at the school. The sports that do exist have many loyal supporters, though. Students believe that there should be more notification about days and times for the events. Some students live off campus and feel like they are never informed about games. They only find out about athletic events when they come through the main entrance to FGCU and see the signs. Since the school is not large, FGCU does not have a football team. The big sports at the school are hockey and baseball.

Lack of notification about games is probably the biggest problem with athletics. The athletics department has been trying by sending out fliers with dates and times about the games, but for certain sports, there's no notification at all. If there were more notification, then there would probably be more people in the stands and more support from the student body. The school is newer, so there are still changes and adjustments that need to be made in the future.

We don't have football, but we do have an awsome soccer team and basketball team (in which the girls teams are as good if not better than the boys teams)

Athletic Enthusiasm

The sports teams at FGCU are pretty good in my opinion. Our men's and women's basketball teams are very good; however, they could use some work on offense, as does any team out there. Overall, I love FGCU's sports program.

Alico Arena Some teachers' offices are located upstairs. The basketball tournaments are held inside the Alico Arena, and there are two levels of seating around the court.

Athletics Behind the stairs of the Alico Arena is the exercise room, large and free to students. Just don't forget your student ID.

Athletics There is a basketball court located in North Lake Village, along with a tennis court and volleyball court. If students do not have equipment to play these sports, then they can get them from inside the exercise room (right next to the Alico Arena, so students don't have to go far to get what they need).
