Student Author OverviewWhat's This?

Students are divided on school policies. Some students believe that the policies are easy to follow and affect the academic and social life of the school in a positive manner. Other students have a different opinion, believing that the enforcement of policies is becoming worse. Some students might walk into a hallway and smell pot (something RAs are supposed to strictly monitor) or see people smoking joints. In terms of smoking cigarettes, there is supposed to be a strict fine for not using designated smoking areas, even though most people who smoke in nondesignated areas don't get in trouble. Be warned, though: you may get stuck behind a smoker walking down the halls and have to breathe it.

Drinking is another issue. FGCU sometimes has a "they're gonna drink anyway" attitude. Parties are occasionally busted. Overall, the policies at FGCU are just like any other school. Whether these rules get enforced is up to the school, though.

No Real Punishments

I haven't heard of anybody getting in any serious trouble, and I have heard of a lot of people doing things they shouldn't be doing. FGCU isn't too strict as they are still a growing school and proably don't want to scare off pontential students.

Not Too Bad

The rules and regulations are pretty reasonable, you would have to be an idiot to break a rule
