Depending on what type of FGCU student you ask, you will get a different response about what there is to do around town at night. Some will say that there isn't really much around the school and that places close early. Other students will remark that nightlife at FGCU is great, mostly because of what's offered on campus, including sports, drama, local band events, and the radio station. You have to travel for entertainment other than the local movie theaters, though. The off-campus parties are great if you like drinking and smoking, but not so great if you have other interests; plus, these parties generally don't last long. Overall, each student has something different to say about nightlife.

While there is much to do in the town, there's really not a lot in terms of nightlife. Fort Myers, Naples, and even Sarasota are all towns filled with older, wealthy people. So the "things" to do in town are going to be during the day, such as shopping, festivals, and local events. There are a couple of night clubs/bars near campus, but aside from these places, other night clubs are a good 30 minutes away, depending on where you live.

Lots of Place, Not So Fun

If you are not from Florida you probably won't be used to how far everything is by foot. but it only takes a couple minutes to drive. Gulf Coast Town Center is right down the street, but it would take over a half hour to walk to. There are many bars in there, but not too many actual clubs.

There is no nightlife at my school and there is no much of a bar/club scene.

Local Hot Spots

There isn't many places to go, but you can always find a bar or club that your circle of friends enjoy going to. There are some local bars like Larry's or Ale Marys. Sometimes other small bars will be "poppin" for a hot minute, but then they die off. Hookah bars are getting popular to go to. The club scene is always happening. Everywhere you go there are promotions of Thirsty Thursday or specials. Vision, Loft59, Seven, Blu Martini, and other clubs at the Mercato are hot spots for FGCU students to have fun at.
