Student Author OverviewWhat's This?

Parking is difficult on the FGCU campus. The parking seems to get worse every year. If you live on campus, you are not allowed to park on campus (away from the dorms) until after 5. If you live off campus, you can park in one of three parking garages and some lots, but they tend to be crowded. There are always long lines in and out of the parking garages. Oftentimes, students will drive all the way to the top of a parking garage, find there is no parking, and have to drive all the way back down again.

If you know what time to park, then you will be OK. Also, if you come to school about 30 minutes before your class starts, then you should be able to find a parking spot. However, the parking is very difficult if you don't know good parking areas and times to show up. But once you start school, it will be easier to figure out a schedule.

Be There Early!

If you are planning on using the parking garage on campus, make sure you're there at least 30-45 minutes early. There is very little parking on campus and the schools sees it fit to utilize every spot. Therefore, every spot from top to bottom of the garage is used and if there isn't a spot there, you will have to park in the dirt field.

No Need for Wheels!

Parking is always available at school. I have no car here, so permits, tickets and fines are never a problem. There is also never a need for a car as my friends take me shopping for food and any miscellaneous items that I need.

Crazy Parking

Parking on campus sucks! There are different parking garages but good luck finding a spot quick. And only commuter students are allowed to park on campus during the day. They have buses for everyone else.
