There are a variety of places to go eat at across the street from FIU, however, unless you're going to a fast-food restaurant you'll be paying a kinda high price; especially if you're planning on eating every day...

I Don't Live on Campus

I've been in enough dorms to know that they are grody and overpriced. Freshmen are required to sleep over during orientation, should give you a taste of how dismal living conditions are. I fear for out of state students, you'd be better off putting all that money in a CD and staying in your state. Honestly, do not dorm here.

Terrible Part of Town

Unsafe and messy part of town. I wouldn't live on or off-campus to be quite honest.
