Student Author OverviewWhat's This?

Team spirit is high throughout the campus. Every team is well respected, though some are definitely more popular than others. FSC sports attire is worn by at least a couple of people in each class. Without a football team, however, there is not a crazy fervor running through the school on Fridays in the fall. This may be a letdown for major football fans, but with so many other sports teams to root for, there is no lack of sports enthusiasm. Intramural teams are very popular, especially among the Greek community. Games are normally somewhat competitive, but with an overall good nature. There is a variety of sports to choose from, for every level of physical activity. Some examples are basketball, ultimate Frisbee, tennis, and even rock-paper-scissors. There really is something for everyone.

The athletic facilities are very clean and well maintained, whether indoor or outdoor. The wellness center contains the basketball courts, a side room for various classes, and a workout center. The classes are free for students and vary from semester to semester. Classes include Zumba, ab attack, yoga, fitastic, and Pilates. The workout center has a variety of exercise equipment. The center is well-used by students, but almost never very busy, so students have a good chance to be able to use the equipment whenever they want. It is not an intimidating atmosphere, either. The wellness center also provides wellness screenings, a free service that measures a student's physical fitness and suggests healthier meal plans and workout schedules based on the student's fitness goals.

Go FSC Mocs

Our president is really into sports and supports the teams. They have gone to plenty of national events. Our fitness center is great and there are waterfront actvities (like kayaking and water skiiing) and opportunities to go camping or ride horseback. There's also volleyball, tennis, and basketball courts to play on, with all the equipment provided.

Spirited but Not Fanatical

Sports are important at FSC, but not the only thing on campus. We don't have a football team, but we have other great varsity sports such as soccer, lacrosse, and baseball. Baseball and soccer go very far each year and there is spirit but not a huge support. Facilities are very nice and fairly up-to-date, and intramurals are exciting too.
