Greek life is a big part of Florida Southern and is represented in many of the school clubs and organizations. Unlike typical stereotypes, the Greek organizations do not have clique reputations, such as the preppy sorority or the jock fraternity. They do have parties, but these parties are not the main attraction on campus. Greeks are very competitive with each other in events, but not to the point where there is obvious animosity between organizations. Sorority and fraternity members often live in Publix Commons, and although it can be nice to live together, it is not the same as the big houses that are available at some other colleges.

You can definitely have a good time on campus without being in a fraternity or sorority. If you are not part of a Greek organization, there is no pressure to join one because the campus is diverse enough to allow everyone to find their own niche. Be aware that when you do join Greek life, you are making a huge time commitment and spending a lot of money on dues and other various Greek merchandise.

It's good if you're involved but it does take a huge chunk out of your day. People won't judge you if you decide it's not for you.

Greek Life at It's Finest

For awhile, i was skeptical about the greek life at FSC. However, it turned out to be the best decision i have ever made. I am a student-athlete as well and i love all my fraternity brothers. We are the founding fathers of the fraternity at our school and it is awesome to make what you want of it. Greek life as a whole is a fun way to meet new people interact with others and most importantly to have fun. It becomes very competitive as well when it comes to Greek Week to see whose on top. I love it. GO GREEK

Needs Work

for a small school the greek life is above par that aside as a greek myself i have found several biases and prejudices in greek society both on the school administrations side as well as within the collegiate that are not productive
