Student Author OverviewWhat's This?

The parties that occur on campus are mostly hosted by Greek organizations or by athletic teams. While some are promoted with posters and flyers throughout campus, the party scene is not a main focal point of campus, which is the case for some schools. House parties do happen, but Florida Southern is a dry campus, so you won't find much drinking.

Bars and clubs are easily accessible, especially when using a designated driver. Walking may not always be the best idea, but the locations are not that far away. The bars and clubs are also very affordable, with a wide variety of drink specials. However, in the Lakeland area, there aren't very many choices, so if the couple of bars and clubs are getting boring, there are always other places to try out in Tampa and Orlando. In this case, it may be easier to make a weekend out of it and find somewhere to stay in the city. For those who are still underage, many options are available. Some of clubs and bars offer an underage cover charge, so it is still possible to go to the various bars and clubs. However, if a bar or club does not sound appealing, going to the movies or hanging out at a late-night restaurant are good choices.

Nightlife

Due to the small nature of the town, there is really only one spot in town, it's a dive, but you will be sure to know everyone there. The nightlife has a very homey feel because of that, and I always feel safer that way.
