Student Author OverviewWhat's This?

Lakeland has a wide variety of restaurants, especially for how small the city is. There are many fast food and sit-down options, all very close to the school. As such, there is an option for any occasion, whether it is a date night or just a quick bite before class. The close proximity to campus is a good thing because there are no fast food restaurants on campus. If a student is looking for a place to eat, going down one of the main streets, such as US 98 or Bartow Road, has many restaurant options. There are also several shopping areas that are surrounded by places to eat, so a shopping trip could be combined with a meal off campus.

Besides fast food fare, there are also many small, locally-owned restaurants. This variety is good when family or friends come to visit a student because the student can share a restaurant that is unique to Lakeland. Lakeland has a couple of options for healthy dining, but there aren't many. If students wish to cook for themselves, the area is close to rural areas, so there are farmers' markets from time to time, when fresh produce is available; especially around the different seasons (such as strawberry season), fresh produce will be plentiful.

I'm No Expert

I came from a small town so Lakeland has a lot of variety to me. There arent really any student discounts though, and I only like going to a few places, because I don't like spending the money (and I don't do fast food).
