Best Time to Look for a Place

There are strict rules in place to be able to live off campus, so for most, it won't be possible until at least junior year. Even then, it is hard to get approved.

There are strict rules to live off campus, so most students live on campus until at least their junior year. Even then, strict rules apply to move away, such as a high GPA, married status, at least 24 years old, or within a certain radius of campus. Several options are available off campus, but students need to keep their eyes open for good deals. The best area to get an apartment or rent a house is close to campus. This may be obvious for time reasons, but the area around campus is much nicer than some other areas around Lakeland.

For some students, it is worth living off campus because there are no RAs and a meal plan is not necessary. Plus, this is a chance to experience complete freedom before graduation. However, campus has free laundry (where off-campus housing doesn't), and students do not have to fight for a parking spot every day when they go to class if they already live on campus.

What I Have Seen Is Good

there is a small amount of school provided off-campus housing available to juniors and seniors with a gpa of 3.5 or higher, the availability is not great though there are plans to expand it, of recent a fair number of students have acquired off campus housing from private owners at apparently affordable rate, and the land lords are nice and amenities affordable

Off-Campus Housing

Most students attending Florida Southern College live on campus; however, the few that do love it. Living off campus gives students more freedom and options.

There are many houses in the area for possible college living. Many students choose that route.
