Quite a Range – Some community style dorms, such as Kellum and Smith, are very small and the amenities are minimal.. but these options are also very affordable. Suite-style dorms like Landis are very nice- plenty of space and privacy and lovely buildings. Non-traditional housing is also available, like apartments at Ragans or townhomes at McCollum.

Plenty of Options – Computers are available in all libraries and some relevant buildings (computer science, etc.) have computer labs of their own. Also, most dorm buildings have a computer lab where students can use computers and print documents for free. Laptops are available for rent at Strozier Library. Wireless internet is available in every building and outside most locations.

There are buses in many locations, as well as the Night Nole for those that are incapable of driving after a late night.

The amount of clubs at FSU shows the extreme diversity of the town and the college. They all respect each other's goals, morals, and values, and are not discriminant at the slightest bit. Pretty much anyone can join.

Tallahassee is described as a college town, therefore, all of the dining places are conveniently located very near each other. It doesn't matter what side of campus you live on, across the street you will always find a place to eat. Furthermore, the places to eat are fast, inexpensive, and suitable for the needs of young adults.

Rainy Days – Sometimes we have pouring rain and it is impossible to get to class without getting soaked. I suggest bringing a heavy duty umbrella and rain boots. It gets pretty cold so don't expect to wear flip flops and shorts all year round.

Guys & Girls:
Interesting People – You find every type of person at FSU from jocks to punks. The school is well rounded and you will never be alone. Everyone is friendly and fun.

There is a bunch of libraries on campus and there is plenty of student/athletic centers and activities to do on campus.

No Drugs – Florida State University has a strict honor code policy that everyone has to abide by no matter what. You don't see anyone using drugs, minus smoking cigarettes, or drinking alcohol on campus. There is not even any peer pressure that students have to worry about unless they were in a frat or sorority.
College Senior 2011-05-04T17:35:54Z
Nole Power – The athletic teams perfrom very well and make it to the top levels in competitions. School spirit is out of control when it comes to football and everyone goes to the game to see what our team is made of.

The off-campus housing at Florida State University is great. There is such a variety of apartments for students to choose from and they range in prices. You pay for what you get and you can't expect much if you pay little. Florida State has a great bus service that provides transportation from the apartments as well. People's animals are the only issue when they don't clean up after them.

Greeks Take Over – Greeks in the Divine Nine take over the Union every Wednesday. They see it as a time to show how awesome they are, I guess, and stroll around the whole time to different songs. Market Wednesday is supposed to be enjoyable for everyone but it has turned into a step show.

Dry College Town – Tallahassee has a very active night life for the three colleges that are up here, but other than that, there really isn't much to do. The malls are horrible and when you leave campus you pretty much sit around and wonder what you can possibly do.

Financial aid didn't really help me with anything.

Good Officers, Not So Good Crime Rate? I mean, the officers are not the problem, it's definitely the criminals. FSU is located in downtown Tallahassee like many universities, which leads to higher crime rates. There have been a few incidents close to the dorms and around campus, but nothing too bad. Officers are doing their job, and hopefully crime will start to decline sooner than later.

Okay, so when I first visited Tallahassee I couldn't understand why it was considered one of the biggest party schools in America. Now that I go to school here, I understand. The clubs are really close to campus for the most part, I have never had to drive to a club. The Night Nole is a free bus that takes you and picks you up from most clubs, and the Nole Cab is a private cab service sponsored by the school that will take you mostly anywhere in Tallahassee for 4 dollars, and 4 people fit in the cab, so $1 per person is NOT bad at all. Everyone here is down to party and everyone finds a group of people and a club scene that fits their likes. Seriously, I come from a big city and experience this small town nightlife is bizarre to me. Never in a million years would I have expected it to be this great!

Pretty Good Choices, Even Healthy Ones! There's a lot of places you can go for lunch here. Aside from the two dining halls (which one of them looks straight out of a Harry Potter movie), there are also many popular chain restaurants like Chilis, Quiznos, Einstein Bagels, etc.

Flying High – FSU, unlike any school in the US, has a circus on campus that is performed solely by students. There are a couple classes offered that allow you to take part in this experience; however, it isn't "clown college" as you cant get a degree from it. I feel that thats the one thing FSU will have over everything else, and it is truly unique.

Dorm Life – I lived in Salley Hall my freshman year, and I loved it. Everyone there was so social and easy going. My RA made it a point to constantly have floor meetings and gatherings where we would just hang out and be able to meet new people and feel at ease with our "neighbors." I met some of my best friends to date in Salley Hall.

Great Atmosphere – I got into every Florida school that I applied to, but what set FSU apart from everywhere else was its lifestyle. This is purely a college town with a great student spirit section. If you enjoy football, FSU is a school for you. Everyone here is practically a "die-hard" seminole fan. We even do the warchant at the bars and clubs. FSU offers a once and a lifetime experience that I believe anyone would be foolish to pass up.

Health & Safety:
I always feel safe when I am on campus. There is such a great environment and I feel completely comfortable at my school. I always make sure not to walk alone at night and act responsibly when I am out with friends.

Love It! I absolutely LOVE Florida State. Of course I know many people who let the college life get the best of them but if you can stay away from partying everyday then you should be just fine.

Go Noles! Here at Florida State University it doesn't matter whether we win or lose there is always incredible turnouts at athletic events! The spirit isn't just confined within campus grounds but can be felt all throughout the town. I can truly say that we bleed garnet and gold. Did I mention that Doak Campbell Stadium (our football stadium) is the nations largest free standing brick building?!

Lots of Help in Exploratory Major – I came in undecided to Florida State University. The school created the Exploratory major for undecided students, and the faculty in the Exploratory program is very friendly and helpful in pushing students to explore their options. The program has many resources that aid students in taking their interests and applying them to appropriate majors and careers. Exploratory students are given the opportunity to really think about what they want before they declare their majors, so they don't end up overwhelmed with mistakes and indecision.

Cold in the winter (for Florida) and very hot in the summer. It keeps things interesting.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
