Our athletic facilities are more than impressive. We have one of the top film schools in the nation. We have a student run circus! Cheap drink deals. FSU is also great at providing free events and concerts both on campus and around Tallahassee. Student discounts galore! Great campus transportation. Good food options, could be better.

I have been at FSU for 5 years, going into my 6th. I got my bachelor's degree and am working on my masters. I'd always wanted to go to FSU because of it's proud tradition, especially with athletics. School pride is huge and there's always a sense of camaraderie with your fellow Seminoles. Plus, people are just nicer in Tallahassee. The drivers and traffic really suck though. The party scene is big but you can definitely still stay focused on school or do your own thing.

Selection Okay – single bedroom apartments that are affordable and not slums are hard to find, let alone close to campus. there are a few decent multi-room apartments close to campus within my price range.

Greek life is huge at FSU. Join and you will have the time of your life. No matter who you are guy of girl you will find a house to fit you.

But if you know where the other labs are on campus you will never have a hard time finding a computer.

Our fanbase is huge! So many seminole fans! Lots of team spirit!

Many programs are very prestigious but others are not so much. It seems like there are far too many slackers for my taste.

My School Is Number One – Tallahassee is a true college town. Famous for athletics and lots of fun social events and school pride. Great musical and theatrical talent as well as the other arts.

Not as Bad as I Thought It Would Be – For the most part the school is quiet. It's when you head towards the Oglesby Union that it gets pretty active because they usually have events and such. Not to forget that it houses the cafeteria. There aren't a lot of food places around campus and you can't always use your card to go to the vending machine to get a snack like they tell you when you first use the card but the student government is slowly changing. If you walk to school there is no problem with parking. If you drive, good luck. It's really creepy having someone follow you in a car looking for a parking space you don't have because you walk. In any case, it's quieter than I expected for a city campus but perhaps that's because if you ask most residents they'll call this a town.

Strictness? a Little – Mandatory first day attendance only. They like to have you there so don't expect to pass a class if they only see you on test days. But for the most part its at the teachers discretion. The police aren't as strict from what I can see. However they will not let you register if you: owe money to the school, miss a milestone, or are missing paperwork.

The tiniest amount of rain will cause flooding all over campus

unless you drive before 8am, you will not find a parking space anywhere on campus. Also, if you live on campus theres really no need for a car.

Stuff to do regardless of age and interests. It's great!

The Dining hall food vary from very good to terribly disgusting. After some experience, one will come to figure out what they do and don't want to get. Other than the dining halls, there is an Chili's on-campus, a food court, the 24/7 Diner, and small snack stores placed around campus. You would be best off getting the cheapest meal plan but with the most flex dollars. This way, you do not waste your time with dining halls any more than necessary and are able to still eat decently.

There are many options of getting around campus and the surrounding areas. Car is the most popular, but you also have bike and a bus that travels all around campus from 7 in the morning to about 8 at night.

Feels Like Home – I loved living on-campus. I lived in a suite style dorm where I shared a bathroom with 4 other girls. This year I will be living in an upperclassman dorm, which is apartment style.

Health & Safety:
Robberies and Crime – FSU is certainly not known for there safety. Though they have blue lights that you press and send an emergent message to police, there are still robberies and rapes at least 2x a month.

Guys & Girls:
Guys Vs. Girls – I enjoy the ratio of students at FSU. I have an equal amount of guy and girl friends. I don't really judge on looks, but from what I have seen there are quite a lot of good looking students at FSU.

In my opinion there is diversity at FSU, and alot of it. My roommate was Jamaican and she had a friend who was Haitian. She introduced me to a culture that I had never experienced and wouldn't have been able to if it hadn't been for her.

I love the campus and all the facilities it has to offer. They just redid the library's first floor and it looks amazing. The Doak Campbell Stadium has been around a long time, but the upkeep is so nice that it looks brand new. There are many activities and events that go on around campus that can certainly keep a student busy throughout the school year.

Mr Roboto – One of the restaurants we have thats only in Tallahassee is Mr Roboto, its a sort of fast food sushi/hibachi place and it is sooo good!! Its also priced very well and they have this sauce, called yum-yum sauce that students are crazy for.

Awesome Engineering Research – I came to Florida State University because of the great research in the fluids aspect of mechanical engineering. It has a very advanced and intriguing facility.

Big Presence on Campus but You Don't Need to Be a Part of It – Greeks have a pretty big presence on campus from all their philanthropies, spirit, sports, etc. However, it is very expensive to rush and be in the Greek system and you can have a lot of the same experiences for a lot cheaper by looking at other student organizations. Only a small percentage of FSU population are actually greek so it's not a super big deal if you are not able to join.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
