It's mostly dominated by Greek Life...but there are plenty of house parties for you to find.

There are some dorms you want to avoid...But most of them are bearable.

Great, Just Eat in Moderation – The dining is great! I enjoy every meal, but if you eat there all the time, you won't have many other options except for outside the school.

You Get What You Pay for? There is a transportation fee included in the fees and tuition, but it allows you to ride the city buses for free, which is awesome if you dont have a vehicle. There are also campus buses that run fairly efficiently. There is also a late night bus and a campus transport for those late nights on campus.

The Noles Are FEIRCE. Sports at FSU are always a big deal. This goes for varsity and IM. The students are very supportive and it's always a good time.

Student Discounts – The convenience of off-campus dining is crazy. I can literally walk to McDonalds, Burger King or even Dominos from campus. Also, most resturants give great student discounts such as coupons distributed throughout campus or specials such $5 pizzas or $1 subs on a specific day.

Tallahassee is the pub of social life. Not only having the great Florida State University, it is also home to the famous Florida A&M University. With all resturants and clubs just minutes away from either campus, this place is great for a college student experience.

The newly renovated Strozier Library is the new hot spot to study in. Thanks to Florida State University Student Government Association, there are new computers and study areas, a convenient 24/5 starbucks and more space to study for exams or tests.

Policies Aren't That Bad – The only harsh thing about the academic life at FSU is if you cheat you get kicked out of the University. Although, you are informed of this before you start the class, so it's your own fault if you partake. Parking is also horrible, but it's like that everywhere.

Drinking Is Popular – Every party I have been to has offered alcoholic drinks, but surprisingly no one has ever pressured me to drink anything.

Instrumental Music Education – Being a Music Education major is the joy of my life. It requires much work outside of the classroom, including concerts and teacher observations. Although it takes so much time, it is very rewarding. The professors are spectacular and have acquired so much experience they never run out of events to share and talk about. The classes may seem irrelevant at the time, but in the end they all strong together to one joint education. GO NOLES

Health & Safety:
Campus Safety – Campus police are have been a godsend for me on many occassions, and there are many emergency contact poles on campus that will come in handy if need be. With all of this though, there are still many crimes that are happening frequently so I would not feel safe walking alone at night on campus. All in all, fsu has taken good measures towards security but it will take time to make adequate progress.

Not Used to Winter – I am from Orlando so I am not used to the winter being as cold as it was this year in Tallahassee. However, it did push me to stay in and study more, and other than the colder winters, the weather is generally the same as Orlando.

Many Differences – Florida State is a very diverse school. There are all sorts of people. There are those who struggle just to pay for their tuition, and those who drive around in Mercedes and BMWs. There are southern people, northern people, people of all racial backgrounds. Athletic people, studious people, party animals, religious leaders, all are found at FSU.

Generally, the closer you get to campus the more expensive the housing is. Still, housing in Tallahassee is more fairly priced than that in Gainesville or Orlando. Many complexes have bus stops at the front transporting students to FSU. Some places are safer than other, really just depends on the specific complex.

Parking on campus is rough you really need to know good hidden parking lots because the main garages get filled up so quickly.

There is plenty of housing off campus. From apartments to town homes and even single family homes. a lot of great locations close to campus and a great bus system.

Paradise in Northern Florida – Tallahassee is very student friendly. A large depedence on the student population makes for an interesting competition within the business sector. The students win because business owners are tripping over each other to get to the student. Consequently there are many things to do in the way of events, attractions, activities, and recreation. The strategic location of FSU is also nice for weekend get-aways to the gulf, the ocean, Georgia, or Alabama.

Not Very Strict – Ive been to many a parties and maybe about 10-15% got broken up. The cops dont care about open drunkeness theyll just tell you to go home but i havent seen anyone arrested.

Just About the Same – I personally do not deal with drugs but know many who do. It seems to be just the same here as anywhere, judging from talking to other friends at different schools. But its not barren. If you want to get your fix, you can.

Guys & Girls:
Pretty Girls Everywhere – Mostly South Florida & Tampa area students. You do meet your good mix of out of staters too. The girls are pretty everywhere and most are down to earth and love to go out and have fun.

I Hate the Rain – rain happens a lot in Florida and it just makes huge puddles on campus.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
