Health & Safety:
Campus Safety – Campus police are have been a godsend for me on many occassions, and there are many emergency contact poles on campus that will come in handy if need be. With all of this though, there are still many crimes that are happening frequently so I would not feel safe walking alone at night on campus. All in all, fsu has taken good measures towards security but it will take time to make adequate progress.

Not Used to Winter – I am from Orlando so I am not used to the winter being as cold as it was this year in Tallahassee. However, it did push me to stay in and study more, and other than the colder winters, the weather is generally the same as Orlando.

Many Differences – Florida State is a very diverse school. There are all sorts of people. There are those who struggle just to pay for their tuition, and those who drive around in Mercedes and BMWs. There are southern people, northern people, people of all racial backgrounds. Athletic people, studious people, party animals, religious leaders, all are found at FSU.

Generally, the closer you get to campus the more expensive the housing is. Still, housing in Tallahassee is more fairly priced than that in Gainesville or Orlando. Many complexes have bus stops at the front transporting students to FSU. Some places are safer than other, really just depends on the specific complex.

Parking on campus is rough you really need to know good hidden parking lots because the main garages get filled up so quickly.

There is plenty of housing off campus. From apartments to town homes and even single family homes. a lot of great locations close to campus and a great bus system.

Paradise in Northern Florida – Tallahassee is very student friendly. A large depedence on the student population makes for an interesting competition within the business sector. The students win because business owners are tripping over each other to get to the student. Consequently there are many things to do in the way of events, attractions, activities, and recreation. The strategic location of FSU is also nice for weekend get-aways to the gulf, the ocean, Georgia, or Alabama.

Not Very Strict – Ive been to many a parties and maybe about 10-15% got broken up. The cops dont care about open drunkeness theyll just tell you to go home but i havent seen anyone arrested.

Just About the Same – I personally do not deal with drugs but know many who do. It seems to be just the same here as anywhere, judging from talking to other friends at different schools. But its not barren. If you want to get your fix, you can.

Guys & Girls:
Pretty Girls Everywhere – Mostly South Florida & Tampa area students. You do meet your good mix of out of staters too. The girls are pretty everywhere and most are down to earth and love to go out and have fun.

I Hate the Rain – rain happens a lot in Florida and it just makes huge puddles on campus.

Buss Is Awesome – the bus can take you around campus in a very short amount of time, with the campus route coming every 10 mins and then other buses also circling school, you should never be late to class or not have transportation.

Strong and Accessible – you can access any computer with your fsu id and there are thousands of them around campus to help students.

I Am GDI – Every day I get asked if I am in a sorority. I am not, and people in the Greek life call me a God damn independent (GDI)

Fun in Fountains – Florida State University's Westcott Fountain is the most photographed site on campus. All of the fountains here are also considered to be pools, so you may swim in them all year round. It is tradition to be thrown in on your birthday.

All Are Welcome – There are over 500 student run organizations on Florida State's campus, all of which are diverse. Everybody will be able to find where they fit in the most. There is no excuse not to get involved because if you don't like any of the 500 organizations, you are more than welcome to start your own. It is actually encouraged.

A Great Education – As an Undergraduate, I have been in courses that everybody has to take. All of them have been great so far. Registration is easy, especially if you're in the honors program. Florida State offers plenty of fun, relevant courses and the professors here are nothing short of excellent. In my first year, I was already able to get recommendations.

East campus is where it's at. It is a more beautiful part of campus and closer to many of the classes underclassmen take. Many of the housing on the west side is run down and in need of repair.

Go to the Mall – There are two malls in Tallahassee. If you are looking for good food Govenor's Square is the place to go. There is about anything you could want around here, from steak houses and italian to Seafood and health reasturants.

The gym is really nice with a pool, track, and many others means to excerise. Around campus are basketball courts and tennis courts to excerise outside. There are a few libraries on campus so there is alwaus a place close by to study or use a computer

From Original to Chain – FSU has the best situation when it comes to o campus dining. There is a starbucks cafe right in the library. The union has chain restaurants such as chilis and Hardies. My favorite place to eat on campus is the 60's diner that serves, quite possibly, the best burger in town.

Health & Safety:
Kind of Scary – I feel like it is quiet but many dangerous occurances have happened especially lately. There are armed muggings, rappes, and missing students who are not found alive. I definately lock my door and live in a gated community.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
