The campus is not strict in the sense, they just want the campus to be as safe as possible.

I was a transfer here so I had to pick my off-campus housing quickly. Tallahassee is a college-town and a lot landlords prey on college students and take advantage of them. I pay about $500 in rent a month because our utility bill always is "over". And the management is always clueless on what is happening with their residents.

Not a part of Greek life, can't afford it.

This university is my dream school, and I have made many sacrifices to be here. I live paycheck to paycheck and work about 30 hours a week to stay on top my bills. The transition is hard because the academics are superior, but overall I would say I am blessed to be attending FSU.

Always packed with students, very time consuming to get one-on-one time with an officer. Not a lot of help with transfer student scholarships, mainly just loans. Not very personable except one main officer who has guided me through the loan process. Also, they never pick up the phones if you had a minor question.

Health & Safety:
The Wellness Center was recently built, but has proved its worth over and over. Along with regular doctors, there is a women's clinic, a travel clinic, lab testing center, x-ray center, physical therapy and many other services that are offered to the students. The campus police are also good. They have regular routes and they offer self-defense classes to female students.

While I do not participate in many activities on campus, I have very happy memories on the few that I did go to. I personally love going to the campus movie theater. They will show movies that were released a few months ago and sometimes have special features of movies that have yet to be released. I would definitely choose to go to FSU again if I had the chance because I have met amazing people and I have enjoyed my time here.

There are several different types of housing options for students, but what the student can actually use is completely different. Some places are so expensive only the wealthy students can live there. The cheaper housing are more accessible but there is more competition for spots and there can be problems with the housing in general.

There are many different ideas and opinions on campus and it is not hard to find a group that agrees with you. There are many different religious organizations as there as political. The economic status of students also varies greatly, with some students being very wealthy and other barely able to pay their bills.

There are several restaurants on campus. The majority have regular hours, but there are one or two that are open all the time. There are food trucks on and near campus that students use. There are also the two campus dining halls that many students frequent as well.
College Junior 2013-10-28T21:23:37Z
There are several night clubs that students frequent. Some are closer to campus than others, but they are never more than two miles away from campus. They are all along the bus routes so students have that option.

FSU really tries to accommodate all of their students on some level. We have a on-campus movie theater, a clinic, a student union and so much more. There is always several different activities going on throughout the day and night.

The financial aid website is very helpful in finding different scholarships, but the office itself is annoying. If you try calling, you will be put on hold for at least 30 minutes. And the office is always busy unless you arrive extremely early. The processing of documents is slow as well.

For classes, attendance varies, especially if the professor is not required to take attendance. However, cheating is taken very seriously and the punishments are severe.

There are many different places that a student can experience, but the biggest problem is safety. There can be a lot of crime sometimes and there a some neighborhoods that students are told to avoid if possible. However, there are several night clubs, some malls and there are seasonal attractions.

The campus buses are truly a life-saver for many students. They can be a bit sporadic, but they get students to their classes and back home again. It is also convenient because one of the bus routes goes by a grocery store so shopping is easier for those who do not have a car.

Many of the athletes have a self-entitled attitude, especially the football players. Our teams perform well and have given our school more recognition, but that should not mean that they are more important than the average student. They are given new shoes every year at a on-campus Nike store. Professors will allow camera crews to film during class. The majority of students are very supportive of the teams, but personally, I would like there to be more consideration for the average student.

Guys & Girls:
There are a lot of attractive people on campus. Many girls are athletic and so are the guys. However the looks tend to be the stereotypical preppy look. There are a lot of rich students on campus, so this is not that surprising.
College Junior 2013-10-28T21:00:03Z
Greek students are not seen as rude, but they are not all the accepting either. A person can watch a house and the same type of girls with walk in and out. It is the same way for the guys.

The fall and winter here in Tallahassee is beautiful. It get cold but not to cold to the point where it snows. The only time the weather sucks is in the summer because it rains out of no where, but thats florida for you.

The drug scene depends on who you associate yourself with, the popular activity at this university is drinking. It is known for a great nightlife so alcohol is very popular. However our school enforces the use of it illegally on campus.
College Senior 2013-10-26T19:19:22Z
Minorities of all types are very visible on campus and people are generally very accepting of each other.
College Sophomore 2013-10-23T13:02:28Z
I personally didn't receive any financial aid or scholarships, but I know many people who did. The only real issue is they are slow with processing money and requests.
College Sophomore 2013-10-23T13:01:19Z
Dining halls can get boring sometimes because they serve the same food rotations. However, there are other restaurants on campus that are good to offset the dining hall.
