I am very happy wit the Biology department. All of the academic advisers and faculty are extremely helpful and knowledgeable of their job. One of my major career goals is to go to graduate P.A. school to become a physician's assistant and hopefully while I am still in undergrad, get an internship that will help aid me in my decision as to what field in physician's assisting I want to get into.

I'm a Biology major and so far many of my classes have been very interesting and most of my teachers were very helpful and good at what they do. Many people that I know that were also Biology majors found some of the classes to be fairly difficult, and it isn't an easy major, but so far I have been able to get through all my classes with the help that I've found with ease.

There's quite a variety of computers ranging from laptop rentals, desktop PCs, to Macs. Most of the time there are computers available it just depends on what time of the day it is and if it's during exam week, then chances are there will not be a computer available, you're better off just bringing your laptop or studying at home. Sometimes the wifi is stronger in certain areas on campus but there is always a signal somewhere.

I am a Biology major so many professors that would talk with the freshman about getting into the Biology department would sometimes scare them as to how "hard" of a major it is. True, Biology isn't an easy major, but for me I've breezed through many of my classes so far and haven't had to retake any classes but that's just me. If you're dedicated to science and really like Biology and Chemistry, then this major isn't that hard to stay in.

I really don't know that much about the internships here, but I do plan on getting one once I am eligible and when the right time comes around. Many of my friends and family members who are in college have had internships of some sort and most seem to enjoy them and learn a lot on the job.

The FSU campus offers a 'safe' bus for students at night who feel insecure walking home alone, which is convenient. The main or daytime buses for FSU are less so as the schedule for pickups are routinely ignored and added with the extra time for additional stops and circumnavigating the campus, thee better option is to walk even if the destination is off the FSU property.

There are many computers available throughout the campus. Watch out during midterm/finals weeks because it will be difficult to find one, but there's always a computer lab in some building that will be open.

At times, you can get into the sketchier parts of Tallahasee, when you probably won't feel too safe. Other than that, it's easy to stay safe.

Nightlife is not only for student 21+, but also has great options for those 18+, which is most students. Not many house parties, the clubs are for those who like that scene, and the bars are more social.

B for average. Some nicer dorms, and some not so nice.

The campus is gorgeous, cohesive, and walkable with lots of green space and trees. The library is amazing with lots of resources and a Starbucks.

I also didn't live on the FSU campus. Obviously, you don't hear many nice things about dorms from other students. But I think that is the standard response.

I wasn't involved in Greek life. But if you have the money and the social inclination to join such an insular community, go for it.

The PoliSci dept is highly quantitative and the faculty publish regularly. There are plenty of options for undergraduate research.

They have good options on campus like Papa Johns and Chiles if you ever get tired of eating in dining halls.

It's mostly sunny, but it may start to rain out of nowhere. The winters here are mild as well.

FSU does have a reputation for being a "party school". While this is not unfounded, if you have no desire to become involved in drugs or alcohol, there isn't much peer pressure to do so. Even at parties, people who are drinking or doing drugs don't necessarily care what the others are doing. That being said, alcohol is very visible, particularly at parties and tailgates, and drugs are common among students. I would say that drinking is much more common than drug usage.

FSU has some great buildings - as well as a few really outdated ones. Most of the dorms are really nice and modern compared to other schools, and more and more dorms are being built to having private bedrooms with shared common spaces, to allow for privacy for the students. The gym is always busy, and the equipment is often being used causing a wait for those wishing to work out, but FSU has remedied this by building a secondary, smaller fitness center in the new Health and Wellness Center (which is also the new clinic and Dr. offices). Most classroom buildings are great - spacious, and even the older buildings have more modern technology in them. FSU has wonderful campus security, so if students are careful, getting around on campus at night shouldn't be a problem.
