Tallahassee is a great college city. It is great to see everyone come together to tailgate and cheer on FSU during sporting events!

The dorms at Florida State University are great. There are many options for every type of student. Each and every dorm has a different atmosphere. I personally lived in the honors dorm, Landis, and I loved it because it was right in the middle of campus. I think the best dorms are Landis, Gilchrist, Wildwood, or Reynolds because each of these dorms have a very social atmosphere and are conveniently located on campus.

I love my Editing, Writing, and Media program. They are very internship and experience based, so they push opportunities at the students constantly.

There is an apartment complex for ever price range imaginable. The ones by campus are more expensive, but if you have a car you can find a good complex for a decent price range. Styles depend on preference and most are good with roomate matching. Crime is common, such as robberies & theft, but if you live somewhere with good security it shouldn't be an issue.

Although we don't have every major imaginable, there are so many flexible programs for you to choose from. Some are limited entry, such as the Exercise Science program or the Mass Media & Communications program.

Teachers are always challenging, and the curriculum varies between programs. Some are more internship/experience based, and some are more in-class/lab based. Do your work and go above and beyond to impress your professors and you'll be set.

The menu's get repetitive but they never taste horrible! The breakfast however is amazing! Flexbucks are used everywhere on campus, and in certain dorms, meal plans are not required. There are also kitchens in every residence hall, although I'm not sure you'd want to use them! In the food court, options are asian cuisine, Pollo Tropical, Papa Johns, and we're building a SubWay

Buses are always running and the off campus routes are usually on time. We now have a phone app that shows the buses and their locations in live time so you'll never miss a bus again!

I've Never Had Any Problems – Yo don't have to hassle the office, but make sure you fill your Financial Aid out early to maximize the money you get back from the school and from FAFSA

The city of Tallahassee offers several different off-campus housing options, however, in search for one that is convenient and cost-efficient may be a bit of a challenge. The closer you live to campus, the more expensive the rent. Landlords are sometimes unreliable due to the fact that some tenants are treated as if they are not an adult and may try to get over on you. Parking will always be a hassle considering the city is overpopulated with college students since it has three other institutions. Availability is pretty, however, spots can fill up fast. Florida State is enclosed with a pretty clean and safe environment.

All sports at Florida State University have great significance. The athletic training and facilities offered is a paragon among all Florida schools, as well as throughout the country. Sports are supported through student involvement and school spirit which is recorded by loyalty points, which are offered to students who attend sporting events so that they have the opportunity to engage in the big games without any fees. Football is highly praised, however, there are many other sports such as volleyball, swimming, and we even have a rowing team.

FSU is great at helping their students to get the financial assistance they need. They are great at doing everything possible for you to succeed. They offer many scholarships/grants, especially in certain majors/departments.

I loooooooove FSU sports. In fact, that was one of the factors that influenced my decision to go here. The students have so much school spirit, and football games are so much fun. It is also nice that the students show support to the other sports activities also. It is also cool that students are allowed to eat in the athletic dining hall. Fried chicken Fridays are the best.

A lot of variety is offered, yet it would be a little more convenient if some of the more popular restaurants were closer to accommodate those who don't have reliable transportation, especially their own vehicles.

Nightlife activities are conveniently located near the campus and is enjoyable since the location has more than one bar/club at that location. It can be a little less fun than expected since of course you have to be 21 to drink. A cab isn't necessary since as stated before, these bars/clubs are really close to campus.

Pre-prepared food never beats home cooked meals yet it is still edible.

I have not done an internship, but I do hope to have one. This brings forth some concerns about finding an internship because of my lack of employment experience.

The process of getting into my program is typical of other admissions process. You submit transcripts, GPA, standardized test results (GRE, GMAT, etc.), statement of purpose, and recommendation letters. The most difficult challenge I had to encounter was taking the GRE and getting a good to score to submit into admissions. The most important criteria for admission is your GPA. Most admissions decisions are based on GPA first, then standardized test results.

I am just starting with my program. However, I am positive that I will be satisfied with my program. This program is needed to achieve my career goals, which is to be eventually employed in my field of study and does bring some concern about finding a job. My concern is my lack of work experience in my field.

Florida State provides a service online that helps students find off campus housing and most of the apartment selection are at reasonable price. The price is usually per bedroom and not the actual cost of the apartment. Meaning that instead of renting out apartments, they are renting out bedrooms. Making single bedroom apartments more costly then apartments with multiple rooms.

Health & Safety:
The campus police are always on watch at Florida State. There are poles scattered around campus with emergency buttons. Once one is pressed, the police will show up immediately. Also, they have microphones and speakers, so you can speak with a dispatcher as well to notify them of your emergency. You will always be safe on campus, just as long as you don't go out looking for trouble.

Guys & Girls:
In a nutshell, Florida State has the prettiest girls in all of Florida. Most of the students there are in great shape. I mean, it's Florida. We have the beaches. Everyone tries to stay in great shape. The gyms are always packed. I can guarantee that not once will someone walk through campus without seeing a member of the opposite sex and not wanting to say hi. I've never been disappointed with the girls at Florida State. Some of them can be pretty stuck up and hard to get along with, but there are still plenty of them that will be willing to talk to you!

Every place you can go to on campus serves the purpose that it is there for. Oglesby Union provides plenty of hangout opportunities, dining, and provides many late night events for the students. The rec centers on campus are HUGE, and will provide you with everything necessary for a great workout! You won't be disappointed with anywhere you go on campus.
College Junior 2013-06-08T20:31:56Z
There are plenty of dining options on and off campus. Most of the off campus dining options are literally within walking distance from campus. Many students will leave campus in between classes to go grab a bite to eat at places like Chick-fil-A, Jimmy John's, and Moe's. None of these places are too expensive and fit great in a college town.
College Junior 2013-06-08T20:27:10Z
The campus is incredibly beautiful. I catch myself walking through campus just to be able to look around and really feel it. The Greek life is very popular among the majority of the students, and you can always find something to do. The communications program on campus is fantastic, and the film school is one of the top film schools in the nation. There are plenty of opportunities that await at Florida State University.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
