I am in a sorority and I love the Greek life here. It is like we are one big family and all stick up for each other.

Tallahassee is a very small town. The main attractions and things to do surround the university. The best places to eat and just go out with your friends are within a 5 mile radius of the school. There are cool places such as the Rez and the sink hole where many people like to spend their Saturday and Sunday afternoons. Tennessee Street is pretty much where its at. Once you get far away enough from the university there is nothing but forests and residential areas. However, on Game days this small town simply lights up. Businesses paint their windows in support of our team and offer specials. The immense pride for the Florida State Seminoles can be felt throughout Tallahassee. Even though the school is located in a small town it is events like these that make you feel like you are apart of something BIG.

I believe Florida State University is extremely diverse. There are international students from Serbia to even China. There are people with many different ethnic backgrounds. And there are hundreds of clubs and organizations that welcome you with open arms. One can definitely find a place to fit in at FSU

Sports centered but there are museums & festivals.

Need to get to school at least a hour early to find.

The professors here are great they are all very friendly and helpful. The workload all depends on how many classes you are taking and if you are able to handle it. Popular study areas are the library's and on Landis green during the day. The awesome thing is that you can study anytime because Strozier library is open 24 hours a day.

The school has so many things going on at once that you never really know where to begin. The social scene is great and the campus life also is. You can pretty much do whatever you please on your free time as long as it is legal and abides by the schools rules and regulations.

The nightlife for students that are 21 and older is far more diverse than what is available for student that are younger than 21. However, there are a few clubs for those who want to pay to have a good time. I would say that house parties are far more fun than the club scene because they are free and people of all ages are there.

The activities and athletic centers are great. There are many things to do and many clubs to join on campus so you will never be bored. The gym is open almost all the time which is useful if you want to work out any time of the day.

The campus is absolutely gorgeous but the weather changes every 60 minutes or so. It'll be really cold, sunny, windy, and humid all in one day. It's really annoying when as a student when you have to walk to classes and you're only properly dressed for the weather for only a portion of the day.

Parking is difficult, but there are plenty of busses to take instead.
College Sophomore 2013-01-26T23:39:01Z
There are lots of different apartment complexes for students, varying in price, distance from school, and spaciousness.

Health & Safety:
FSU offers various methods of late night transportations such as Safe Bus that picks up and drops off on campus from 7pm to 2 am. The Night Nole public bus goes around various places in Tallahassee as well. Cabs are also a good way to get around. I always see campus police going around campus but some walkways are some what dark which I avoid especially if I'm by myself.

Guys & Girls:
Guys and girls at Florida State vary but for the most part the majority people here are really social and engaging. Students dress nice especially when going out to clubs or bars, and many people here are in shape and really good looking. I would say FSU has the some of the best looking students by far as well as friendliest.

The scholarships are great. Some are awarded strictly on your performance while others require essays and lengthy applications. For example, my major is communications and media studies and I have to write an essay on why I want the scholarship and what I will do with it.

The buses are really convenient. They are usually on a good time schedule. Nice on cold or rainy days. Also good if you live off campus since parking is hard to find through the week.

Fresh Food is really easy and convenient if you live on that side of campus. The service is good and the food is pretty good usually. You have a lot of options, including vegetarian meals. I had the unlimited plan and would go in there when my friends did to socialize. Also met a few new friends there.

Salley Hall was not the best. Very small room to share with someone. Ragans apartment style is nice for on campus, but kind of expensive. At least you get your own room and only share a bathroom with one other person. I recommend Ragans if you're a sophomore or above.

I'm a Psychology major, but also going into Pre-Med, and I can safely say the workload is plentiful but not overbearing. There are tons of opportunities for internships, jobs, and joining student organizations, and so far I can't say I have any complaints about the teachers/professors. Overall, I am very happy with my experience here at Florida State.

No sign of drug use on campus, but like you can expect from every college, there are certain cliques who partake in the activity.

I live right on "Greek Row" so I get a good helping of the Greek life. It is surprisingly quiet most of the time, but if you are looking for a good party you can find one almost any day of the week and every week of the year, except for major test weeks.
College Junior 2013-01-24T22:56:45Z
I live off-campus and the rent is pretty decent, plus I live about three blocks away so parking is not an issue and its good exercise.
College Sophomore 2013-01-24T21:59:22Z
The permits for parking are free for all students. However, there aren't enough spaces for everyone. I have found myself, several times, searching well over an hour for a spot, and ending up parking almost a mile from my dorm. This isn't always bad...unless you have groceries with you. :(
College Sophomore 2013-01-24T21:56:59Z
The school has an excellent bus system that is free for all students, runs every fifteen minutes, and is almost always going where you need it to. Also, the Tallahassee public buses are free for all FSU students, and will take you almost anywhere. Taxis also have specials for students who need rides at night. If you're going home from a club, before 3am, the cost is only $3 to get to campus. FSU also has night systems for when you don't feel comfortable walking alone in the dark. There are numbers you can call and be picked up, no questions asked.
College Junior 2013-01-24T20:09:43Z
You never see anyone drinking or doing drugs in the streets. Most students who do drink are over 21 as it is really controlled by the police force at FSU. I have never personally seen anyone doing drugs other than smoking cigarettes outside of classes.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
