Control and Balance Is Key! The nightlife at Florida State University is unlike any other school. Regardless of what day it is, the partying does NOT stop. In Tallahassee, most places are 18 for entry and 21 to drink. There are bars such as Yiannis, AJ's Sports Bar, and Potbelly's, These bars are where a majority of the guys, and a decent amount of girls, like to go. This crowd likes to drink beer and have conversation versus dancing. As far as clubs, the night determines what club is the hot spot. 20/20, Baja's, and Rokbar are great on a friday night. The bartenders are hot and the students dance and drink the night away. Most people take cabs, call a safe ride, a "got cha", or even designate a driver for that night. Public transportation through the university, also known as the Night Nole, is not very popular. Greek life is a big part of nightlife parties whether its a crush with another fraternity, a frats annual themed party, or a charity event.

There are plenty of parking spots during the weekend, but during the week it is terrible! It might take up to 20 minutes to find a single spot...

There are alot of students and faculty that are of other nationalities, it is hard to always find them..it really depends on what part of the campus you are on

I LOVE IT! Without a doubt, choosing FSU was the best decision I have made. Both Tallahassee and FSU are both so big, but they are able to give you a small town feeling. They are welcoming. And Tallahassee is a town filled with colleges, which allows students freedom and liberation with people who are there age.

FSU is one of the most diverse schools in the US, in my opinion. Because they have a campus in Panama, many students from all over the world do a two year program there and then transfer to main campus with in-state tuition. I have never met so many people from all over the world until attending FSU

Health & Safety:
Campus Safety – Florida State is one of the safest colleges I visited before I finally chose it. Walking around at night it is not too dark because there are many street lights. In addition it is safe knowing that there is a tower that alerts the police in vision at any possible spot you are standing.

Although there may not be much to do during the day, if you're 18+ the nightlife is "poppin." People in Tallahassee party every night like it's the weekend. Hopefully you can keep up with your studies during the day because at night you have to party. Transportation is so easy at night. Cab rides cost only 4 bucks for FSU students, and the night nole bus takes you to a lot of locations! The clubs are great. Bars are great. Tally night life is the bomb.

Although there are people of many different origins, most of the people that you will meet are from Florida. Due to Bright Futures it almost doesn't make sense to go to a school out of Florida. I'd say out of about 100 people, probably 90 of them would be from Florida. That's crazy! Diversity isn't really around.

Anything You Could Eat Surrounds Campus-Except Seafood. Eating off campus is a very easy thing to do around Florida State. There are so many chain restaurants and little Mom & Pop restaurants where you can always find what you're looking for! I've been here for a year and a half and still haven't managed to eat at all of the restaurants around campus. The only thing I wouldn't suggest eating around FSU: seafood. Ew.

there are always buses running during the day and they are all spaced within about 10 min of each other.

The dorms are average, depending on which one you live in.

Sometimes getting online can be a hassle but there are many computers available in the many libraries on campus. They are sometimes crowded but they are available most of the time. They also rent out laptops and such.

Health & Safety:
There are "safe buses", security guards, cameras and everyone is cautious. There are mishaps here and there but overall a safe and quiet campus.

FCS Is a Great Major! All you have to do to get into the family and child sciences major is taking four classes. After that you are in the college as long as you declared it as your major. Most of the professors really care about you and want you to succeed.

RAIN RAIN GO AWAY! When it rains it is horrible. FSU is on a hill and it is a compact campus so you will do a lot of walking and the buses can fill up soon so if it rains expect to get soaked.

FSU is great at making your dining experience great. There are a number of places to eat on campus from Bagels, to Papa Johns, to Chilis! The dining halls have fresh food that is some of the best I have tasted on any university campus. If you like Harry Potter then you will love the dining halls at FSU!

Pretty easy to be a psych major here. The workload is hefty but nothing you wouldn't expect at an accredited university. The curriculum is pretty straightforward. Many internship opportunities through DIS. The facilities are great.

Dont Get Into With the Law – If you are to be caught by local authorities they reserve the right to tell your school even if it is a minor charge. Usually an essay will get you out of trouble but it is still a pain in the rear.

The computers at FSU are by no means state of the art but at the same time they aren't clunkers. The Wi-Fi acts up a lot and can be painfully slow at times. The printers in the library are usable for 10 cents a page. You will save yourself much stress by having your own PC, which I feel like is mandatory, and having your own printer which will.

This is the university i hope my children will someday attend. There is excellent school spirit and comradery among the different programs. The professors have been very helpful and given more personal attention to my success that I would expect from such a large university.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
