School spirit is never lacking at FSU. Going to football games is almost mandatory, and everyone knows the student section has the most fun of any fans. Other sports get a lot of attention as well, but the main focus is on football.

If you want parking, get there early. There are not nearly enough spots for everyone.

Party School! Tallahassee is definitely a college town. It is full of clubs and bars.

Apartments Are Average – There are a lot of apartments close to campus and they are cheaper than living in the dorms. Still some places are too far away to walk to campus.

In the summer it is extremely hot! In the winter, its extremely cold! through out the year,it rains randomly. Sometimes the weather is nice, but its unpredictable so i advise that you watch the weather channel before you step outside.

Health & Safety:
Safety Is Average – Florida State University is an open campus, so strangers can come on campus, but its rare. it is a safe school, police patrol the campus, RA checks the dorms, and there are school buses and vans you can take at night.
College Senior 2011-12-29T22:20:42Z
You Don't Always Get What You Pay for – The off campus housing facilities take advantage of college students who are unfamiliar with the renting process.

Dorm Life – I lived in the honors dorm, Landis, it was extremely convenient and was comfortable. Roommate matching is also good.
College Senior 2011-12-29T22:17:41Z
There are multiple libraries with computers available almost always

Great Community, Close to Class – Although some of the buildings are not the prettiest on the inside, Florida State's Housing Department makes up for that in the quality of staff they hire as RA's, and the community they develop in those halls. If you are in Honors, definitely apply for Landis, and don't be afraid to try out some of he living learning communities.

Football at FSU is an amazing thing. The amount of school spirt from the students and faculty is truly an amazing thing to see.

Guys & Girls:
The Way Students Look. Theres a variety of students attending Florida State. Theres no particular look for males or females, everyone is included and everyone is different. The men are interested in intramural sports and some are very interested in going out to bars and clubs. The guys are all pretty hot and have a little bit of the southern charm. The girls are interested in all sorts of things including, greek life, going out, and shopping. As people say, FSU is where all the pretty girls go.

The libraries on campus are great, they are clean and well kept. Theres always something to do on campus with their wide range of activities. Theres intramural sports for everyone and being involved in greek life always keeps you busy. While walking to class everyday I think about how lucky I am to attend such a beautiful university. Florida State's campus is beyond gorgeous and its well kept. Some people even think theres a strong resemblance between the campus and Harry Potter's Hogwarts

I Am Just a Freshman. I just started school at FSU and I am from Miami, Florida. I haven't really experienced a winter but the colder temperatures do make it harder to walk to class. Aside from the winter and perhaps an occasional rain storm, the weather is nice and most people walk and enjoy the outdoors.

Lots of Options! Public transportation is great during the day at Florida State. If students are not packed on to the buses, they are walking, on a scooter/moped, driving, or bicycling. Regarding the night, besides taxi cabs, there are a couple safe ride services that will come and get you if you call them. Our school also has a program that cabs only cost $4 with a FSU ID on your way home from any bar or club any night of the week.

Control and Balance Is Key! The nightlife at Florida State University is unlike any other school. Regardless of what day it is, the partying does NOT stop. In Tallahassee, most places are 18 for entry and 21 to drink. There are bars such as Yiannis, AJ's Sports Bar, and Potbelly's, These bars are where a majority of the guys, and a decent amount of girls, like to go. This crowd likes to drink beer and have conversation versus dancing. As far as clubs, the night determines what club is the hot spot. 20/20, Baja's, and Rokbar are great on a friday night. The bartenders are hot and the students dance and drink the night away. Most people take cabs, call a safe ride, a "got cha", or even designate a driver for that night. Public transportation through the university, also known as the Night Nole, is not very popular. Greek life is a big part of nightlife parties whether its a crush with another fraternity, a frats annual themed party, or a charity event.

I Love My School – The football games are amazing, we have an amazing theatre school and the peopleare so nice. Everythig about this campus is beautiful and it's easy to get around from place to place. I love it!

There are plenty of parking spots during the weekend, but during the week it is terrible! It might take up to 20 minutes to find a single spot...
College Junior 2011-12-25T23:10:49Z
There are alot of students and faculty that are of other nationalities, it is hard to always find them..it really depends on what part of the campus you are on

I LOVE IT! Without a doubt, choosing FSU was the best decision I have made. Both Tallahassee and FSU are both so big, but they are able to give you a small town feeling. They are welcoming. And Tallahassee is a town filled with colleges, which allows students freedom and liberation with people who are there age.

FSU is one of the most diverse schools in the US, in my opinion. Because they have a campus in Panama, many students from all over the world do a two year program there and then transfer to main campus with in-state tuition. I have never met so many people from all over the world until attending FSU

Health & Safety:
Campus Safety – Florida State is one of the safest colleges I visited before I finally chose it. Walking around at night it is not too dark because there are many street lights. In addition it is safe knowing that there is a tower that alerts the police in vision at any possible spot you are standing.
College Senior 2011-12-22T02:51:31Z
Although there may not be much to do during the day, if you're 18+ the nightlife is "poppin." People in Tallahassee party every night like it's the weekend. Hopefully you can keep up with your studies during the day because at night you have to party. Transportation is so easy at night. Cab rides cost only 4 bucks for FSU students, and the night nole bus takes you to a lot of locations! The clubs are great. Bars are great. Tally night life is the bomb.
College Senior 2011-12-22T02:47:19Z
Although there are people of many different origins, most of the people that you will meet are from Florida. Due to Bright Futures it almost doesn't make sense to go to a school out of Florida. I'd say out of about 100 people, probably 90 of them would be from Florida. That's crazy! Diversity isn't really around.
College Senior 2011-12-22T02:43:51Z
Anything You Could Eat Surrounds Campus-Except Seafood. Eating off campus is a very easy thing to do around Florida State. There are so many chain restaurants and little Mom & Pop restaurants where you can always find what you're looking for! I've been here for a year and a half and still haven't managed to eat at all of the restaurants around campus. The only thing I wouldn't suggest eating around FSU: seafood. Ew.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
