FSU has been actively remodeling and renovating older buildings on campus, as well as providing students with modern entertainment venues. You don't have to worry if you don't have transportation because you can always find something to do around campus. The students who complain that there is nothing to do on campus are the ones who never leave their dorm rooms. At a school like FSU that offers an abundance of things to do, you have to try pretty hard to be bored.

The Student Life Building, which was recently completed, boasts a movie theater (showing a number of new releases each semester) and a Cyber Café. If exercise is more your style, then the Leach Recreation Center and Stults Aquatic Center are great places to break a sweat and check out the talent. Early mornings and late evenings are the best times to go if you're serious about working out. The exercise equipment and pool are well maintained, and there is usually someone on staff around to provide assistance should the need arise. The Student Union offers Club Downunder (which brings in live music on a regular basis), a bowling alley, game room, as well as eating establishments, a barbershop, and a weekly flea market. Entertainment is also occasionally provided by a mix of public speakers who are unashamed to stand up and spout their views, which generally leads to an interesting exchange of ideas between speaker and audience. A lot goes on in the new Student Life Building, so it's a popular place for students to go for entertainment; however it's not the only entertainment facility that FSU offers.

Why Florida State is unique Why Florida State is unique On your birthday at night, you have your friends throw you into the Westcott Fountain, a tradition many many years old. You do this freshman year and once again when you turn 21. The water is normally cold all the time, so it proves exciting year-round.
