College Prowler Take

Florida is called the Sunshine State for a reason. Even in the winter, the temperatures have been know to get as high as 70°F, and the coldest low on record is 2 below zero, but that hasn’t occurred since 1899. The general opinion around campus is that, on average, the weather is great. The dead of summer can get extremely hot and humid, so when considering on living arrangements, make sure the place has a working air conditioner. The locals will grudgingly admit that winters here aren’t too bad. Heavy coats aren’t needed, except in rare occasions. Most students can get by with a couple of sweaters.

Weather in Tallahassee is usually predictable, which makes it easy to prepare before you come to school. Spring and fall are the best times of year because the temperatures are bearable. Summer can be nice, but the warmer temperatures can take some getting used to. It does have its advantages, however, like more time to spend at the beach or the FSU Reservation soaking up rays and admiring the local fauna. On the down side, all this beautiful weather can make it difficult to stay indoors studying. Sometimes, you have to make tough decisions.

The weather is usually beautiful, with lots of sunshine and warm weather. I think the winters can be cold, but I guess that would depend on where you come from. Students from the north would probably love it here. I’m from South Florida, and I think it gets way too cold.

The weather here is great. We usually have temperatures of 85 degrees or higher until October, when it gets down to about 60 or 70. The cold months are January and February, and the lowest temperatures usually hit about 40 degrees.

It’s hot, like South Florida, but there are no ocean breezes, so it sucks. It’s hot and muggy from April to early October. Then it’s freezing in the winter; you won’t even think you’re in Florida. But I guess if you come from Kansas or something, it’ll be a paradise. Bring any and everything. Sandals, shorts, and tanks are a must. Ladies, bring your bikinis for spring break!

Mild winters and very hot summers! Generally, sweats and light jackets are all that you need to survive the winter. On the other hand, the summers require tanks, shorts, sandals, and definitely an umbrella!
